Angry PushingThe Limit: Size to Strength

Hey everyone,Spent two hours on the squat rack last night and pushed serious and hard. I'm a regular at the y.m.c.a. and my buddies that i've met their over the past two years allways talk the # for # CRAP. I witness them on a week to week basis push the same weight 185# for 10 over and over ( its fucking sick ) Sure,we kid around and call each other ma'am, but i was wondering what all you thought about it? I will admit they hoover around the 7%to10% ratio but there style is bodybuildig and dieting, I'm around 12% right now and I walk around this way (p.s. my daughter is currently showing me how to send some photos, i have no clue, yet). My idea of feeling faint and seeing the white buffalo every time i lift heavy isn't my idea of fun. Is there a direct link? I can't have a carrot skin,1 raisin, and a half glass of no fat milk for breakfast (I'd be homicidal). I've done the protein, the supps' and the dieting and lost my strength and gains. My regular 4000 calories+ keeps me balanced and strong but below that I'm stumbling. I'm a heavy weight when i compete 260+, and in 3 lift events i consistently lose in this catagory,(#for#). I don't know, I'm happy with it. I can pick my silverado off the ground and they can't, I won! see ya, Bigbullboy.

you say what your buddies pushed but you never said how much you use. and if your 260 lbs i hope you use a lot more than 185 lbs for squats. and why do you spend 2 hours at the squat rack? either your not using heavy enough weight or your spending too much time between sets. are your only goals strengh? or do you also want to loose some bodyfat as well? clarify what your question is a little better and i guarantee some of the guys on this board will get you moving in the right direction

first of all i wanna say " old schoooool " to you, and second, post this same thing in the training section not the open chat...........

you are pretty old fashioned when it comes to this sport (based on what you wrote above)..we will help you with everything and get you going !!! plus it doest sound to me like you would be a 12%, based on your diet (again all based on what you wrote above)....gl, when you transfer your thread you will get much more responses!!!

it doesnt mean it a better thing tho, he is in for the muscle not anything else, so if you are killing yourself at the gym compared to him, it would be overtraining and your injury level is high in the sky....

Thanks, I have been healthy lately. Ya know when you miss some days and you feel cheated? My mental state always dictates my fortitude and i punish my self from it,my worst injury was when football season started last year (NFL) I got hooked on Power cleans and was doing fine, i got to about 300# and on my 2nd attempt i actually dislocated some ribs from my leftside, ouch couldn't wipe my own ass (been married 22 years she declined too,) 2 months and limped back to the gym.Told myself, change but that didn't last, went to deadlifts. Today, snowing like a bitch, cold 19,supposed to get a foot of the shit, just bought 217 gallons of home heating oil $434, been layed off since dec 10, I'll be 42 next month, got 30 payments left on my truck, 28 years on my mortgage,so hows Utah?
