    Evil Blatant Self Promotion

    I realize I'm now an evil spammer, but I'm being an evil spammer in the right forum for evil spam

    Anyway, I'm lookin for feedback on a game I made, I'll find some porn or something to post in the thread for kuso and the rest of the chat whores if that's what it takes to get some feedback. Anyway, I've gotten a bit of feedback from the techie boards I frequent, looking for more the average joes take on it, good or bad. This is the demo version of the game, intended to push people to a downloaded version (not yet available...), and the downloaded version will actually be the one to hopfully snag peoples wallets.

    I don't like the game, I understood how to do it but it didn't catch as something addictive.
    Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
    not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
    and drag down the features of age,
    no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
    no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts

    Its not a bad idea but the graphics and interface are pretty amatuer and the sound effects are kind of annoying

    I would never buy this because...

    Sound effects are annoying

    It has no hook to get me interested to where I absolutely have to beat it

    There are about 5,000 games online for free that are better


    It was fun to play, but when compared to yeti games and some of the games on addictinggames it doesn't hold water.
    If sense were common, everyone would have it.

    I guess the real question is, with the promise of more features, would you bother to download the full version might be a better question (the full version isn't available yet unfortunately, workin on the business side of things). The full version includes cooperative and competitive multiplayer mods, though if you don't like single player cooperative might not be much of a hook.

    I don't like the sounds either, I would have replaced them already but well, every time I mention it someone ends up being fanatically for the sounds that are there.

    stu21Ldn: Do you mean the menu on the left, or just everything about the appearance? Basically is there something in particular that sucks?

    When I have the full version available for download I'll have to come back and see if it changes any opinions, probably won't. The version you guys are playing is a stripped down version of the original (it's easier for someone to try an applet than a downloadable game... but it's hard to determine where to draw the line so that the applet can be played free but would still make people want a full version). Anyway, I appreciate the feedback, though I was hoping it would be more positive, looks like it needs a lot more work still.

    Damn, it looks like when du510 quoted my link he broke it, sorry, I don't know what to say.

    Thought I would mention, the game requries java 1.2 or higher, so if it fails to work and you are curious enough to deal with downloading an update, goto java.com to get an up to date version of java. I would have to make some serious changes to get it to work on jview that a lot of peoples browsers still use

    I'm resurrecting this thing from the grave because I finally have the full version download available. I think it's far more likely to work correctly. If you are willing to give it a try it's located at Block Insanity. There is a reg key anyone can use though it will expire on may 5th. I'll be spending as much time logged into a multiplayer game as I can in case anyone wants to show up and give it a go. I'm hoping that some of the people who didn't like it will try it again, as I received nothing but positive feedback before I made the cut down demo of the game (posted previously), I'm hoping the negative feedback was a result of something I cut out of the demo.

    Anyway, once again I appreciate your opinions on this and hopefully a little entertainment is worth the horror of my blatant self promotion (prince, smack me upside my head if this isn't OK).
