Is it an IM Member? Is it someone we would know?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

Hey Eggs, when did you hear about Alex Supertramp? (Mccandless)
I actually didn't know... there were just enough clues to find him pretty easy.
Sitting here with NIN cranked up and getting ready for a shoulder workout. So I had a little free time.
What you got going on this weekend Bunny?
WTF?!? How did you know that Eggs? I just looked him up and I've never heard of him much less seen a pic.

Nothing going really. It is a big holiday here and everybody is out but me.You?
The information on the bus, not too many guys chill in front of buses that say both Fairbanks and 142. Put that info in Google and within a couple entries you'll find him.
I didn't know who it was either... just figured for a cookie I would take the time to check it out.
The name of the bus.Originally Posted by Rocco32

Yeah, I probably would. But there is a lifetime of reading already ahead of me... so perhaps I'll be able to fit it in. I still haven't finished some books that I've been reading a little of now and then, like The Republic and Metaphysics... which I should put the time in and finish. I'll try and remember to pick up his book though.Originally Posted by Vieope
Its not a holiday here per say... any more than every Friday (and most other days) when all the other college kids take to the alcohol. I dont drink so much, so I opted to go to the gym instead. My roomies are out getting $2 pitchers at a bar. I was thinking about going, but it would ruin my run tomorrow morning. And thats more important to me.
What holiday is it?
Btw everybody when I said Eggs or Manic would find out, I was not implying they are smart and that you are not. It is just that I know they really like cookies.
The holiday is of a person that fought for Brazilīs independence a long time ago. He was killed in a very brutal way. He is called Tiradentes and besides that he looks almost like christ, the history of his death is quite close as well.Originally Posted by Eggs
About the book, hmm.. read it first. Trust me on this one. His story is very underated, it is a shame. What book are you planning to read next?
Hrmm, that name sounds kind of like it has latin roots of some sort. I guess that would make sense though since Portugese is the official language. They also speak some others, what language do they speak primarily where you live, are there certain areas that speak certain different languages?
I had a friend in the Navy that was from Brazil (his parents were, they moved to the US). We hung out a good bit, was a good guy.
As far as books, I'm probably going to finish one called Socrates Cafe. Its nothing super important, just a book by a guy that went and held group meetings all over the place and discussed philosophy, kind of like they did in Athens I suppose. Even stupid people had a voice and werent rejected with their thoughts, so it was a mind opening experience for all the people, even the ones who knew more than others. Either that or I have a book on the roots of terrorism thats worked as toilet reading. Not sure which, but I think the cafe book should come first.
Anyways, I have to head out to do my workout before the gym closes. Will be back in abut 45 minutes, later!
Yes, portuguese in the whole country. Everybody else here in south american speaks spanish but us and the two guianas, one speaks a very bad english and the other french.
Socrates Cafe, huh? Sounds interesting. I just hope it is not one more pretensious book about philoshophy with big words that I donīt understand. I am getting more interested on the books by russian authors, dostoevsky, gogol and tolstoy.
Hey, post your list.![]()
