    Question Honda or Toyota?

Both Honda and Toyota are high quality cars that retain their value and have excellent ratings, etc.

Just curious which one you think is better.

depends on what type of car you are looking at. I would definetly take a Toyota SUV over a Honda SUV any day of the week. Have you looked at any of the new Mazda's ? they are great cars as well

My Wife had a Rav4 when it first cam out. I would never get one again. Mind you there has been quite a few changes since '99.

I am personally not a big fan of either vehicle. There AWD system sucks

Actually the Rav4 came out in 1996, I figured after nine years Toyota should have the design of the Rav4 almost perfected by now.

My wife and I had three honda accords and we loved them! They will run forever. My brother in law has an 1990 that has 180,000 miles on it and still going strong. We had to upgrade to a Suburban now that we have three kids. If not I would still be driving one.

You should look into the hybrids with the way gas prices are going.

ah must of have been 98-99 in Canada. We are a little slow

Don't get me wrong I think they manufacture great vehicles, I am more partial to Honda, but those two vehicles wouldn't be my first choice.

The Honda CR-V has the best resale value of all sport utilities. I'm partial to Honda's I have the 04 Accord cp V6. I'm in love with it!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Rav 4 is much smaller as well.

Just bought my wife an Acura MDX. Great car!! I promised her a Lexus (Toyota) but once she drove the Acura (Honda) there was no changing her mind.

Like you said Rob, both are great quality. I really don't think there is a bad decision here. You might want to compare long term maintenance costs but I doubt there is a significant difference between the Rav4 and CR-V

Correct, the CR-V has won the award for highest residual value 4 years in a row for an SUV in its class.

The Rav4 is a bit smaller and a hell of lot better looking than the CR-V.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the CR-V styling either. I also think they're under powered. They only have one engine option. If they offered a V-6 they would sell more.

The Rav 4 is actually quite fun to drive, it handles pretty well. I've been in a Civic Type-R which i thought was pretty dam nice too.

I haven't seen any AWD hybrids advertised. does anyone even make them ?

Toyota has been making 4WD and AWD vehicles a lot longer than Honda. so from that perspective I would think that the Toyota would make a much better AWD product. I've been in my gf's friends CR-V, I think the enterior is god awfull.

yes, the cr-v is ugly as shit. it is also true that the toyota has a better motor. they hold value about the same but toyotas are better-built. not that i ever would, but if i were to buy a japanese car, it would be toyota/lexus. course, i never will because im impartial to german cars.
    cutting sucks.

Our company cars are Honda CR-V and not everyone is pleased with them, for a small vehicle it has good storeage.........but me personally if I am going to get a SUV or truck it has to be something big and spacious. Like a Titan or a Tahoe Suburban.

The trend though nowadays is to go with smaller cars.

I say Honda, just don't go cheap with the tires.
