Favorite Video Game of all time?

Sure, we all know that the original Mario kicks Halo's ass ( ), but what's your favorite game of all time and on what platform?

For me, Nobunaga's Ambition on Sega rocked. I wish it would come out on PC or on one of the systems I actually have these days, but it seems stuck in Japan.

Even with how video games evolved, some orig. Nintendo games are still my favorite:
Mike Tyson's Punchout (Mike STILL kicks my ass)
    Contra
    Zelda

But my favorite video game of all time is none other than the one, the only, Goldeneye 007 for N64. No other game in history comes close.
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

Punchout rocks! As does 007. The N64 was good stuff--Mario 64 was the best of that entire genre.

Old school Street Fighter 2 on the Super Nintendo. Mario, Legend of Zelda, Contra was pretty cool. I haven't played video games in foreever though.

    Guess.

CHRONO TRIGGER all the way. I'm truly obsessed. I talk about it still to this day, play it still, name all my computer screen names Chrono or Crono1000 or Chrono or Khrono (the 1000 in the name is when Crono was living as in 1000 AD), and my screensaver is a bunch of pics I've collected of just my interested and sure enough a lot of them are Chrono Trigger.

Next on the list, and only slightly less obsessed with, is FF7 (of course), the Shenmue series, Starcraft, Star Wars KOTOR

A few other games worth mentioning, but I'm pretty normal about my love with are:
I loved playing the CTF mod on Half-Life, all kinds of Street Fighter games particularly Marvel vs Capcom 2 which I still play sometimes, just about anything on the Dreamcast especially Phantasy Star Online, Soul Calibur 2, Ocarina of Time

And I'm currently playing Guild Wars and World of Warcraft

Metal Gear on Nintendo then the Metal Gear Solids, Solid Snake was the coolest and I can't wait to see how MGS 4 plays out. I mean the story's themselves are twisted up so bad you don't know whats going on.

Then my other favorite is Splinter Cell.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

This is a toughy, but I might have to vote Doom II. I haven't played it in a few months but I was Zdooming online for awhile and its still so damn much fun, especially with high res and broadband playing people from all over the world.

ok, you guys made me do it...

    best of all time:
NES: Punchout, Contra, Zelda, Tetris (who DIDN'T love this game?), Dr. Mario, and of course the greatest sports game of ALL TIME: Tecmo Bowl!!!

N64: Goldeneye (greatest game of all time), Mortal Kombat (people always forget it was the first game to show realistic killing in their fatalities), FIFA World Cup '98 (AWESOME)

PS: any Tony Hawk..what a great game (I swear i'm the greatest skater of all time....you know how much money and beer i won in college by accepting challenges), Madden, FIFA

D- what a game for PC in CC Red Alert...great call, bro! I bet no one knows about that game, but what a good game, huh?

    The Nintendos
NES: Mario or Super Mario 3

SNES: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Best game ever with TMNT: Turtles in Time, Super Mario World tied for second.

N64: Goldeneye then Super Mario 64
