    Tattoos and Pain

I must be becoming a wimp in my old age LOL. This last tattoo I got is all over my back (pics later hopefully) and hurt like HELL!!! I kept thinking I'm going to have to stop this. And this was just the outline, I still need to get it filled in.

Anyone who's gotten tattoos have any pain remedy suggestions?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain...

Normally I do too, but it feels weird on my back. I've had nerve damage back there and pain in one little area lights my entire back on fire, feels like someone is skinning me alive.

Do you think vicodin is a good suggestion? I was thinking about that.

it's about as good as you're gonna get with anything short of morphine.

(you could always just eat some peyote beforehand, then you really won't feel any pain)

The one on my back killed. I was only 16 when I got that one though. The one on my arm didn't hurt to bad.

The outline hurts the most; filling it in they use more concentrated needles. You'll be fine

Tattoos hurt? I thought I felt a slight sting in between bong hits.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I thought the filling in hurt more, more going back and forth and concentrated in an area.

Im getting my tattoo on my inner bicep in 3 days.... and I have vicodin ready! Im thinking of popping 1 or 2 before hand to numb it a bit

Also... as my arms get bigger, will be tat stretch THAT much, or will it barely be noticable?

Cool, let me know how it goes. It shouldn't really stretch much at all. I got tats on my arms when I was 150lbs, then went up to 300 without really stretching them.

Very cool tattoos. You could try some spray analgesic stuff, like for sunburns. Suppose to cool and numb the area.

Weed, does NOT help... I'm a smoker and would never hit it up.It intensifies the pain and once your body kicks in its natural pain killer, endorphins, your not baked anymore anyway ,so its a waste. I love the pain of tats and piercings so I'm not sure exactly what to tell ya all....but... Just focus on breathing , as in bodybuilding, and let your body take it. Soon enough it will release endorphins and the pain should be allot less. Alcohol works great too, if your artist is down with that, depends on how well you know them and they probably got a few bevvies in a beer fridge somewhere that they been drinking all day too! As for me, I love it, getting worked on is great... people actually don't realize it but the reason they go back for more has allot to do with the fact that you get a high off the endorphin rush. Subconscious thing I think. For the record, Id rather have 20 hours done on my back then when I had my nipples pierced...that shit hurt and the only reason I didn't scream like a little girl was cause my buddy was there hen I got them done and I got allot of pride..Tatttie rule. I love paying for girls that I date to get one.. its like my little hobby. And cheaper and not as dumb as buying them boobs, which a surprising number of idiots do.
