I heard that bullshit, too. I fully support Bush, but the claim that this movie was anti-Bush is ridiculous.

If that were true, they wouldn't be among the most popular and biggest $ making movies ever.

That just really seems like a reach to me. I doubt that entered anyones mind when the script was written.

They did take a few lines from past speeches Bush has made, but I wouldn't interpret that as anti-Bush

About any movie will have political overtones. This one does as well.

I love the Star Wars movies, and my friends and I went to see Ep. 3 Friday night at 11:30
    and It wasn't packed, thankfully.

But it was too rushed in my opinion. It should have been a full 45 minutes or more longer. They went from scene to scene so fast, it makes your head spin.
If this is the first one that you have seen, then you wouldn't be able to follow at all.

The enemies were killed way way too fast, and the only great fight was the end one between Obi and Vader....

It was too hyped and didn't deliver, I give it a 7/10 or so...

Perhaps there will be a directors cut out on DVD. In fact, I'd almost put money on that. That would probably be a bit longer.

    Guess we'll see.

ummmmmmmmmmmmm isn't george lucas the director and producer and the man that has the overal say in the movie.

Ususally the studio (paramount, disney, etc) cut the movie and have the final say and the director just directs, whereas lucas art being a private company help by george lucas i don't think there will be a directors cut, probally some extra scense. i could be wrong though.

Thats true... but at the same time they sometimes have to throw things out because they make the movie too long, or they arent quite sure how to fit them just right, etc. I'm quite sure he got the main bits of storyline in that he wanted, and that it moves in the direction that he wants (as opposed to company execs). So perhaps I should have said "extended version" instead of directors cut.

Anyhow, 2.5 hours is a pretty good length. Perhaps he wont feel the need to add to it

I don't believe that portion was anti-US, that is the way he wrote the story like 10 years ago.

2 things did catch my eye, the guns being uncivilized and when the Jedi tried to blow up Naboo for the oil.

There are some quotes in the move. If you consider them to be "anti-Bush" or not, that is up to you:

    "I own the senate."

    And some others.

Whether you like Bush or not....the quotes are quite prophetic.

I saw a special on Star Wars, and religion ("the force") was actually the main thing he wanted to center his movies on. If you ever actually listen to what they say about "the force" in the movies (from Yoda, Obi Wan or whoever), they actually have very interesting and philosophical meanings about life.
