Thats what I did when I was that age...I grabbed my dads lawn mower and just walked all over my neighbor hood askin people if I could cut theyr lawns, for anything,$2,$3,$4....whatever....I just wanted some cash,I did pretty well though, because people would see I was looking to earn rather than just ask for a handout, and everyone usually has like 2 or 3 bucks to spare,I did pretty good, that was my summertime thing....Originally Posted by Robert DiMaggio

Yeh, quite a bit to do at 14. I think you can even have a paper route at that age. My first job if I do remember was helping my brother on his paper route once it got big. Man that was a good leg workout... riding a bike with a bag full of papers through the town.
On Sundays Mom would put us in the van and we'd chuck the sunday editions from the comfort of the sliding door
Hrmm, then after that came working at the knife company, minor contruction work, electrician apprentice, sprinkler installs, roofing. I'm pretty sure I missed a few. The best job I had was catching tropical fish in the South Pacific for aquariums. Of course my friend kept pretty much all the money. Then again, he also paid for the food and supplies alot of the time when we hit the islands for some camping. Of course at 18 came the Navy.
Do yourself a favor and skip that oneCollege is where its at.

My first job was house sitting for a neighbor at 12, they paid me 15 dollars a day to sleepover, eat their food, feed the dog and play Nintendo while they were gone for 2 weeks. Then at 14 I worked for my uncle one summer doing roofing, carrying bundles of shingles up a latter makes a good workout. Family and friends will milk you and won't pay as much though, so do some yards or go down to some local small businesses and see if you can do some errands/ go for stuff for them like maybe pick-up lunches for them for a small fee.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
Yeh, you can definitely pull in some nice dough if you can convince some businesses that you can cut well and charge a decent price!
Why would you need money when you are 14? Seriously, I cant think of any ways to spend it?

i was thinking the same kids around here get $10 to $20 for an hours work.Originally Posted by Robert DiMaggio

I worked for a landscaping company when I was younger and I made a shitload of money, swam in the customers' pools, got to drive zero degree turn mowers, and once I got to drive a Ferrari F-355 spider that this guy owned whose yard we did. It's hard work, but it's a fun ass job.
The only real job I was able to get at 14 was in the PlayPlace at McD's. Quite the easy job at that

I couldnt work there... I loved playing in the thing too much. The ball room was a good time, but I outgrew it way too fastOriginally Posted by Spitfire

Yeah, why do you need the money?
Ah, life in the US is always expensive as a kid. There are $150 shoes, jeans at $60, etc... then if you want to hang out with your friends you have to have money for movies, the arcade, whatever else is going on these days.
Hrmm, and at 14, maybe a healthy dose of crack cocaine
Just kidding, say no to drugs.
