The best band of the 1970's

Who is the best band of the 1970's

Screwed up the pole by putting yes 2x
the second yes is supposed to be Led Zeppelin
Sorry I could only list 10 bands, there at least 30 I should have listed but couldn't.

    No Queen or Led Zeppelin?

My vote would be for Queen if they were up there.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

    Grateful Dead/ Led Zeppelin tie
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

For me it's a 3-way tie with Earth Wind & Fire, Led Zeppelin and Queen (which as mentioned above, WTF! You missed that one!)

There is a limit of 10 to any list, I made a mistake and put the band yes 2x so I couldn't put Zeppelin in as I had planned to. Try and pick only 10 bands from 70's for a top 10 list....I think you will leave out 20 or 30 great bands other people love.

Yea, we really don't have the proper tools to conduct a poll of such magnitude. Nice effort though.

Led Zepplin, has been voted Best Rock band numerous times...

Has replaced The Beatles as most common influence to new groups!?!?

From this list though Earth Wind and Fire.... Very cool -
