I'd rather live in a zoo with man catering to me than in the wild with man trying to poach me for my skin.
I am reading Life of Pi and it brings an interesting point of view. Do animals prefer to be in the nature or in the zoo? Alright, nature is larger, more beautiful but way more dangerous than in the zoo where they get food everyday with no work done.
It is known that an animal that lives in the zoo for too long canīt go back to nature, is it because he is too depressed or too damn lazy and happy there? If you wanna stretch the question, you can ask yourself about human nature or maybe you just want to drink that cold beer than think about this thread? You know what I mean?

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
But wouldnīt that make you a ordinary cat?
Actually I donīt care for that answer, I need sex. Now.
