    I mean the cities in US, specially at night..

    No, I went there many years ago but this I canīt understand. Even in a place like New York, you see that old buildings, everything is dark, nobody there, nobody on the streets even though millions live there..
    Small tows are worst. Is it like that in Europe too?

    Big cities tend to have various areas, some of which are to expensive to use for housing/stores/whatever, so you only see people there during business hours. Atleast I think that is what my teacher said before I fell asleep. Or maybee it was just a bad area, or there was a game on.

    I dont think there is such a thing as an answer that covers all of Europe. In regards to your q that is.

    Maybe that is it, business areas. But there are many abandoned residencial buildings as well that give such an eerie feeling.
