my pseudo-girlfriend is a meth head.

    i just found out today
(on the golf course no less) that my psuedo girlfriend does meth. i thought she was bluffing untill i watched her pull it out of her pocket. i was disguested. i felt sick. and i went home as soon as the hole next to the parking lot came up.

i dont know what to do. for now i am just not talking to her anymore, but i dont have any idea what to do. anyone got any advice, or has anyone encountered a similair situation? thanks for all your help.

chances are very good that it will only get worse. you don't want to look back on the day on the golf course and think how you WISH you'd gotten out then.

I had a girlfriend who got into that terrible habit, at first it was cool because she wanted sex alot and she worked 2 jobs with all the energy she had so she bought me things and gave me extra spending cash. Then a few month's later I tried to get her to take a break from it to come down and stop the fry out but she was already gone so I slowly weened myself from her,(hard because of the money/sex she was pouring onto me). A while later I saw her in my apartment building and she had aged 5+ years in less than a years time. She had been so hot, Korean girl looking almost like the girl in Mino's avatar with perfect implants, tiny waist, her eyes were so exotic, but now she's probably haggard looking at the rate she was going.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

maybe try and help her. I agree, this is the dirtiest drug out there, its straight disgusting. It snowballs very quickly also. Try and let her know your feelings, and tell her she needs to get herself into treatment, see what she says about that. you defn don't want to form a relationship with this person thou, its the drug of violence and aggression. she needs help

Where I am from, Meth is a major problem. 3rd worst in users in the country (so the studies say).

Very addictive, and people go down the drain quick.

I am not talking about a teen or a person in the early 20s who goes on a wild spree for a while.

I am talking about people who are in their 40s and lose everything. Lost their house to foreclosure because they couldn't pay the mortgage. Lost good jobs. Can't work. They don't eat. They don't sleep. They are zombies. Walking dead.

I would try to find out (if you can) how often she does it.

In my experience most folks are not "casual" meth users that just use occasionally. It's too addicitve.

Keep us posted on what you do.

i talked to her about it last night and i guess she said she does it like once or twice a week and i think im gonna try to get her to quit doing it, rather than letting her go to waste.
any suggestions on how to get someone to quit doing something they dont think is wrong?

Sure. Show her the inevitable result of her habit.

If that doesn't work, have her ass arrested for posession.

Now, here's a little test for you. Tell her she has a choice to make. You or the Meth. She can't have both. Her response should give you a good idea how important this chemical is to her.

Hate to say it, but you can't help her. I've seen it a lot at the bar I worked at. At first it's just a little party thing, and they do it once a week or so. No big deal, then there's a party in the middle of the week so it becomes twice, then what the hell, make it three. These people get on it so gradually that the only way they will want to stop is when they hit rock-bottom. Don't let her drag you down with her. Stay friends with her if you want to and try to help, but get the hell out of the relationship.

she said she would stop if i wanted her to, i was like ya i want you to, but i want you to quit because you want to quit. and besides that, she would probably just say she had quit and never bring it up again. so ya if it gets bad, ill get her nailed for possesion i guess. as mean as that is, it is a good jump start. but ill see if i can get her to quit at her own free will first, becuase she claims she isnt addicted to it.

she's going to say all or most of the things addicts say to the people in their lives who want them to stop. some will even sound convincing - especially if you haven't heard the "lines" before and you'll WANT to believe her. i doubt you can help her. it never seems to work out that way.

As my husband says the difference between an alcoholic and a drug addict is that an alcoholic will steal shit from you to get the means to get his fix, a drug addict will steal shit from you and then help you look for it! (For the record he's been both and hit rock bottom... he knows what he's talking about and he's been clean and sober 13 years this July.)
Drug addicts are wicked liars, they can be pretty convincing even to the shrewdest and most sceptical of people.
If you stay with her you're saying it's okay for her to do drugs, even if you tell her you 'want' her to stop. IMO you tell her you 'won't' be with a someone using - period.
You can still offer her help and support to get clean if you want but not whilst in a relationship with her... just my opinion.

i have seen what this stuff does up close. There is nothing casual about it, if she only does it 1-2 times a week, thats enough. Its only going to get worse. You don't want to get mixed up with her, chances are she and her dealer are being watched. Be careful.

A very disturbing film to say the least. The movie is focused around Heroin addicts but it does broach into the realm of other narcotics as well.

It's a real eye opener. Ewan McGregor (the young Obi Wan) plays an amazing role as the lead. I'm not saying it's a "good movie" but it's definately educational as far as gleaning an understanding of how consuming a drug addiction really is.
