It was Costners best film ever with the Al Capone movie coming second.
If I can recall it doesn't make American Indians look like the bad guys, which is rare for hollywood.
Just watched dances with wolves on my laptop with headphones on. I saw the film last time maybe12-13 years ago. Actually enjoyed most of it, great photography(filming). Bit sort of sentimental too, though maybe that is just my imagination...........Any opinions on this movie?

I liked it as well.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

I liked the fact that (like min0 said) it didn't criminalize the Native American Indian people. Another thing I respected was the fact that Costner chose ONLY real Native Americans to portray actual Indians in the movie.
I loved the film.

definetly a great movie.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

I forgot about that lol, I remember in F-Troop they used old Jewish men as Indians.Originally Posted by Witmaster

I'm watching Airplane now and it's still funny.

Not that there's anything wrong with that but when they speak and you hear a Brooklyn accent it just doesn't sound right.Originally Posted by min0 lee
That and the whole orange body paint to create the "redskin" effect. Great motion picture realism!Originally Posted by min0 lee

Great movie, they should show it in History class so the kids can see how compassionate the American Gov. really was/is.

Didn't see the movie, but I read the book and enjoyed the story very much. Bigups to the native Americans for all the shit they dealt with throughout history -- massive deaths from European diseases, deathy by conquistadors, and settlers taking their land.
I liked it, remember crying like a baby (what else is new)
God I was pissed (drunk) when I posted that........
Paying the price now- really helps my training too...
Kevin Costner seems to have totally disappeared..... Maybe waterworks erm, 'waterworld' turned him off making movies.

making drunk posts about Kevin costner, that could be a bad sign
He married a hot girl and settled down, but I'm sure he'll make another movie soon![]()

Not seen that .......... I think 'Dances with wolves ' is in many ways a damned good film. He annoyed me in 'Robin Hood' a bit though the movie wasn't bad, Robin Hood should be acted by a Brit!
In Robin Hood, Costner's British accent was marginal next to invisible. He makes good movies but I think he's an average actor. Bull Durham was my favorite.

One of my favorite movies, not because of Costner though he lost all respect from me with The Postman and Waterworld(both feeble attempts at becoming the next Mad Max)
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
