Oliver Stone to make 9/11 Film

NEW YORK (AP) -- Nearly four years after the collapse of the World Trade Center, Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone will direct a film based on the story of two police officers who were trapped in the rubble on Sept. 11, 2001.

Nicolas Cage, who won a best-actor Oscar for "Leaving Las Vegas," will star as Port Authority police Sgt. John McLoughlin. McLoughlin and fellow officer William J. Jimeno became trapped during rescue efforts after the collapse of the twin towers.

Paramount Pictures said the movie is expected to be released next year.

Should be interesting............Look what Stone did for Viet Nam, Wall Street and JFK.

I think it's too soon to release a major film based on 9/11.

It sounds interesting, but its way too soon to make a movie about that. Ten to 15 years latter then make the movie, some of the family members of those murdered should be given the proper time to recover from that terrible day. Hollywood is just so fucked up to do this now, its a real shame.

I also think it's too early, since there are still so many different opinions and theories about this day.

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

i think also that is way to soon to make a movie based on 911 only a few years later, too many people are still mourning, alot of people are still mourning over there losses, i am one of them as i lost a uncle who was a fireman in brooklyn that horrible friggin day. I guess to make money these people dont care....
