I would use a longer blocks of wood that could accomodate both simultaneously... selected hardwood for it's durability Originally Posted by Tough Old Man

After joining the 2 blocks I would further place the blocks in my vise and using a breaking bar apply added pressure to the blocks until the edges of the vise were imprinted on the wood.
