odds are now 50/50
yes they changed, but your odds aren't better
I just read this on Wiki and want to see who here knows the answer:
You are on Let's Make a Deal. There are three doors, behind two of them, there is a goat. Behind one, there is a new car.
You pick a door.
Monty then opens one of the other doors, revealing a goat.
Monty offers you the chance to switch doors. Do you do it? Do your odds of winning the car improve by switching?

before your odds were 1 in 3 and now it is 1 in 2.
Your odds have improved.

You start with 1/3 chances, eliminate one and now it's 2/3 odds.

nah dude, if he would've showed you the goat before letting you pick your chances would of improved.Originally Posted by myCATpowerlifts

so you have your pick of a door, and you can switch, its now 50-50, your chances havnt improved, but they have from your fist pick
its tricky, but from your logic ur asuming that he revealed the goat before you picked.
The answer is:
Once he shows you a goat, your odds of winning a car DOUBLE if you change doors. It is not intuitive, but true.
You have a 1 in 3 chance if you stay and a 2 in 3 chance if you change.
I will find the link to the explanation.
