    Doggie Mobile

It's time for me to trade in my car for something a li'l more practical, two adults, two kids and two greyhounds just isn't working for us with my current vehicle... a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend some types of jeeps, SUV or whatever?
I really am not a vehicle girlie so cost and reliability and room are the most important features - only thing I won't consider is a mini van, I hate them with a passion, I think I am rebelling from the 'family vehicle' syndrome.

or something a bit more powerful?

The Pilot is a good choice. My Wife and I really like our Acura_MDX (if you're looking for something a bit more posh)

the Pilot and MDX are the same base SUV. the pilot has a slightly bigger back but less bells and whistles.

That's actually pretty funny, the racing males are really bad at jumping as they are usually housed in the lower kennels... I had to lift 85lb Nitro into the car the first few times, the weight was fine it was the scared ridgid legs that was hard to work with!

Okay, thanks guys for all the responses, I'm definately going to look into the Pilot.

My Nissan Murano gets us and our 4 dags to the vet and back. They wear seatbelts too!
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Pilot is UGLY! I would get an Eddie Bauer Explorer, or a Limited. Or even the new Jeep Grand Cherokees.

I agree. But it is a good vehicle. Great reliability.

Like I mentioned earlier, we REALLY like our Acura. Much better looking than the Pilot with all the luxury features we were looking for. However, the Acura does come with a significantly larger price tag!

I guess it all boils down to what you want the car to do and how much $$ you are willing to throw at it.

I'm not even sure what to get first a new vehicle or therapy for my addiction.

Hey now, don't be knocking my car... it's done it's job... that's all I require of a vehicle.
As for a vacuum, no more carpets, leather furniture... broom and mop is all that's required.

I'm glad you didn't have trouble with the Grand Am...
Your car must have ben built out of the Good 50 percentile -

    As for the broom...

You're only swishing all that dog hair around...
    You need this...
