    Holy adware

I ran Ad Aware SE free edition and got 0 critical objects. I then got a copy of the pay version and thus far 264 critical objects have been found. Crazy. My next step is a good virus scanning deal. Anyone know which one is the best, price is no obeject, especially since I do not intend on paying for it.

Also, use mozilla firefox instead of Internet Explorer. Not only is it more user friendly and better layout (news headlines dropbox, google dropbox, etc.) but it also helps prevent ad's and that trojan shit inthe first place.

    o
    here u go

    http://www.petebevin.com/archives/20...ox_popups.html

It'll stop those ones from coming in, or atleast most of them.

When I was younger, my pc sounds like that one. SOOOOOOOO many pop ups, ad ware, the free version, would find 300 every few days, and i could get 50 pop ups in a matter of 30 mins, absolutely ridiculous. I got rid of it by frustratingly wiping my hard drive and starting over with Norton, Ad-Aware, and Mozilla, with this upgrade.

I would go with McAfee vs Norton's. Norton's causes a lot of problems with system resources and it tends to take over the system too much. Good luck trying to un-install it from the Windows Control Panel also.

Yea, but Norton, atleast for me, was alot easier to download and subscribe for free.

    Lam is right.
Norton can be a huge problem if you want to change it to another Norton system or another product.........I would never use anything by Norton again. Spent hours trying to delete all the Norton crap from my computer........its worse than a virus or Trojan horse.

Another good free one is Avast (Search it up on Google). I have Norton installed on mine, but honestly I don't think it's any better.

Also, did you update with Adaware every time you run it? I mean EVERY time? If not, it may have found a lot of stuff simply because it autoupdated when you installed the upgrade.

As a side note, I used to be a freelance PC technician (Still am on a rare occasion) and I used free programs and pay programs (Hence why I have Norton at all). Norton never found anything that Avast couldn't, and Adaware free edition has always served me well.

I was doing a search for limewire and this came up, last time I had it I got stuck with spyware I couldn't get rid of. So I deleted it but I am looking for paint shop pro for free so I re-installed it...and deleted it as soon as my virus alerts went off.
