Between Islam and Christianity, which religion has been responsible for more violence in the history of the world?

If you go back and count all of history, I would say Christianity. We were responsible for the Crusades, Inquisition, Colonialism, Slavery, etc. We finally got some of our act together, though it seems now the Muslims are getting violent these days.

Counting the missions to "save" the "savages" of Africa, South America, etc. etc. which led to epedemics almost completely obliterating whole societies I will go with Christianity. Not to mention Hitler did his bidding in the name of Christ as well.

Its just plain ignorant and dangerous to lay the worlds problems on this man's shoulders. the german people allowed him into power and voted for him in vast numbers, it could be argued he was democatically elected to a certain extent! And lets not forget Britain and europes role in allowing him to annex lands around germany

The Jews, man if I was Jewish I would definitely show in some way that we as Jews do not support whats happening in Israel. and would do something to stop it.(at least try)
If I was Muslim I would also make sure that Bin laden and is crew knew that I do not support them in what there doing and that if they do not stop there gonna lose my support on my mosque.
now I can go on but it's the same for every religion, that why I am against organized religion. And the KKK mofo? that's just a joke man.

thats an interesting question due to the fact Christians, Jews, and Muslims all consider Abraham to be their ancestor. just more proof satan is very adept at twisting the teachings of God and leading men into evil designs.

What source? Are there cameras in my house? Only 1 person knows what I am and he's long gone, besides...does it really matter.

Hopefully this does not turn out to be a flame war, that's not my intention. I'm really just curious as to what everyone's opinion is. This is an open chat forum isn't it?

I'd have to go with Christianity as well... though I think by the end Islam will have made up for its slow start.

Oh, well it didn't really have a slow start, just got started about 700 years late.

Hrmmm, the Jews in their own right back in the old day put the hurting on people. If I recall correctly, the people in the "promised land" weren't given too much slack. A swift kick to the crotch in the least, right?

Christianity then... where to begin? Of course it didn't help that the nobles at the time misused Chriastianity to suit their own purposes. Much like Hitler supported the state church... because he could control what was going on. When the nobles lost control, they inevitably found a new aspect of Christianity that suited their purposes more. Such is how it goes I suppose. Then followed by the lovely Spaniards and their vacationing habits in South America... and perhaps a tinge of protestant loving over here in North America.

Then of course, there is Islam. As stated, they are working their best on catching up with Christianity. From the beginning formed in violence, it has continued well into the 21st century with no waning in its believers ability to transform from every day citizens to car bomb making super studs guaranteed enough virgins to feed them grapes, dates, and blow jobs for eternity.

Anyways, we'll have to see what the score looks like a century or perhaps millenia from now... will there be a waxing of Islamic violence and an upsurge in Christian violence? Only time will tell.

To make everybody happy though, even my non-religious buddies Lenin and Stalin have made a few errors here and there in regards to human rights

Tis human nature, is it not?
