Statistics

Anyone know of good sources for statistics throughout the world? Ive had no problem finding them for the US, and Ive managed to secure an "OK" source from the UK, but its left me hanging(this is after a bit of yahoo searching

)
Im primarily looking for the most complete statistics for crime, in Europe(by country, Western Europe in particular), and North America(Mexico/Canada). My worry is that these countries dont bother delving as deep into the statistics, or dont record them in any official capacity at all. All large statistics sources are appriciated though; eventually curiousity will lead you to question everything

Specific countries Im looking for are - Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, UK(and/or any of the four parts), Sweden, Switzerland, and anywhere else you happen to know of would be appreciated, too.

Why would anybody want to know the statistics for Canada? I mean... what do they have them for? Beer drinking, eh?

Kidding aside though CL, get rid of Yahoo.. I mean, common, Yahoo?

Google rocks yahoos ass. Plus, if you get the Google Desktop, its pretty sweet and it allows you to use the search engine from your dekstop, so no reason to even go to your internet browser until it finds the info.

Thanks. There's actually a story behind that.

While in Afghanistan my squad was chasing down som Al Qaeda terrorists that had just ambushed a convoy with a rocket attack. They took off on foot and tried to shake us by running up into a nearby mountain range. They didn't make it.

Thanks for the links guys; I browsed them and they seem to be pretty indepth and official. I have a feeling a few countries wont have(on record) the numbers Im looking for, but Ill find out tommarow as I wont have time tonight.
If anyone knows of other sources, please post 'em!
