Who wants to bet on how long before mass suicides become a national hobby?

"France is the only developed democracy that has been carried away by uncontrolled individual and collective fear.”

Well at least I knew one thing about them. It always bothers me how little I actually know about the other countries considered,"developed democracies"(I dont care about third world countries, like Brazil! )

    Edit
But I seriously had no idea France was in such bad shape.. I have a feeling it will only get worse for them with the EU. Even Hungary is filled with immigrants for their,"better" economy.. Id bet this is why France and England are trying to get out of the EU(So I hear)
Germany is so busy kissing ass trying to distance themselves from the Hitler Era image that they'd stay in and take the hit..

I see a renaissance looming under a dark cloud over France. They will reinvent arts and start hocking them to the rich of other countries, kind of like the Roaring '20s in America in an attempt to escape hardships the folks will turn to getting lost in music and other art and soon great artists will appear.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Its actually too bad... and I of course was joking with the suicide thing. I enjoy France, and while I do not particularily care for their government, there is something to be said for good wine and Brie

Oh, and some other stuff too

Why is it too bad, depression is a driving force of art. If everyone were giddy, happy and unstressed they wouldn't want to escape into music, movies, plays, cooking, etc. They would just sit around smiling in a trance.
