NO police join in the free for all

Good to see that its not just the members of the public doing the looting. I'm sure they were just removing the items for safe keeping.

Cops are doing something wrong? NO WAY. Police are often worse than the people they arrest.

Police are given a lot of power with low pay and little education requirements and training. Of course there are going to be a lot of corrupt cops. I've had several very bad experiences with them. They have the ability to lie, steal, and even get away with murder. I have had a police officer lie three times in the police report for my public intox arrest (which was dismissed due to video tape evidence of the cop's inconsistancies with his written police report - aka LIES), have had a friend had an item confinscated only to find it on eBay days later, and have seen on the news of cops getting away with murder. The thing with cops is that only a couple bad apples ruins the bunch.

I know what you said but they are not all bad people, you do have some decent human beings who are suffering.

Trust me I hate dirt bags and I would be the first to say if someone is caught looting shoot him, now if they were looking for food, water or necessities well then that's different.

The way you come out is that they are all scum and they deserve it.

I think it is safe to assume that the decent people who are suffering in that area out number the scum bags. However, we only hear about the scum bags because the media is a bunch of scum bags and thrive on this shit. I fucking hate the media. God for bid they show a bunch of good stories in this situation (people helping eachother out, etc...).

In other news I heard reports of officers abandoning their uniforms and escaping the city in fear for their lives.

Confirms partly what I saw back in 1999 in New Jersey. The USA is a series of ghettos, white/black/hispanic or black/hispanic + others. I've never entered such a divided 'land ' before. A land where people (the whites mainly) are true conformists-or appear so.......

Seems like there were a lot of blacks in New Orleans.......... So who gave a fuck in your oligarchy. Spend the money on screwing up Iraq, and pumping money into Israel instead..........

You Americans may just now start waking up to the real world.

I'm really horrified about what happened in N.O. but my god it also shows up thre state of affairs in the US , the 'gun culture'(there seem to be enough of them around), the inept leadership........

Senator Jay Billington Bulworth: All we need is a voluntary, free-spirited, open-ended program of procreative racial deconstruction. Everybody just gotta keep fuckin' everybody 'til they're all the same color.

Real world? How can you lecture on the real world when you live in an agricultural department whose population doesn't exceed 300,000? Your posts about politics, religion and foreign affairs remind me of a drunk bumb stumbling around a college town. No one takes you serious when you preach your views, but everyone is curious about how the hell you arrived at such an obviously ignorant decision.

btw everybody, I dont think the police that stole that stuff should be shot. I do think they should lot their jobs over it however. They obviously saw everybody else in that Walmart looting stuff and figured since it was going to go anyways that they'd do well to just grab some themselves. That in no way makes it right... it just goes to show that even people who you wouldnt normally think would do stuff like that will when the opportunity presents itself.

btw, the policeman in the rear when they are walking out doesn't actually look all too happy about it. That could be due to something else, but he could be a bit pissed and at and disappointed with his partner there

I can't see the rest of the article, but it looks like the cops excuse was that they didn't have enough backup to handle the situation, and they had no direction from their supervisors. So I guess their common sense told them to steal TV'S and CD's?

I think that is one of the worst excuses I have ever heard. I am sure they didn't think about taking water and food and give it to some of the elderly people who can't walk and are dying in the streets.

I saw on the news about an eighteen year old guy that stole a N.O. high school bus, loaded it up with a bunch of people and then drove them to the Astrodome in Houston. They said he is facing criminal charges.

Now who wants to bet that this kid will be convicted on charges after probably saving all those people's lives, and the cops will get no disciplinary action for stealing those items.
