Do you even realize that you are showing your true colors here by defending a racist bigot.

Good thing I am blue but I dont like blue people, call me a racist. I once met a guy floating around in the water that was also blue, the bastard ignored me. He just kept staring at me with those eyes wide open.

I'm positive that the slavery, and latter just overt racism, contributes to the condition in life today. The three biggest factors (as I see it) that are holding them back are:

    1. Not looking for actual equality, but revenge when it comes to race relations.

    2. Trying to keep themselves separate from American cultural as a whole. The whole, I'm African-American thing.

    3. Many blacks live in poverty and poverty is all they know. The is slowly becoming less of a problem, but it will take many decade until this is corrected.

Very true on that final slave comment. The textiles industry was enormous (more so than today) back then and blacks did most of the work in the South. The effects of which, I'm sure, are still felt today.

    Great post hova!
There are countless factors behind statistics. Its not as easy as it would appear at first glance.

They are, actually were put, in a much tougher starting position. After the abolition of slavery the freed blacks had nothing. It has been such an uphill battle to get where they are now. When they started their situation was grave. An effect that they are still feeling to this day. Grave situations cuase people to do grave things, black, white, red, green, or purple. Look at the situation in New Orleans. People who would ordinarilly never do the things that they are are doing so do to extrenuent circumstances. There is less a need for crime when you are at the top of the social strata.

If you read or watch The Grapes of Wrath you'll see that constantly oppressed people lose their dignity and all hope. The little mining towns where I was born are impoverished since the mines have long since quit producing. Most of the inmates in the prison there are white but more importantly poor. So cfs3 do you hate whities from ex-mining towns now too?
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I don't see any personal attacks against anyone. Just fact statements. People who take these as racists comments are usually racist themselves.
