I bet right before he went on Cheney bet him he couldn't play the "WTC Game" and say 9/11 ten times, like the Cat game in Super Troopers where they say "meow".

I just watched it.
I cannot believe he's refer to September 11th - again. What does 9/11 have to do with a hurricane and the response (or lack of) to it? |

I am huge admirer of Bush and he might be the WORST speaker of all time...his strong attributes do not rest in communication...especially live communication.
I hated slick willie, but man can he talk. That man never look anwhere, but straight into the camera lense. Bush is looking at the teleprompter and his notes on the podium every 5 seconds. The sad part is that he gotten better ![]() I still like the guy though |

Bush uses 9/11 like a crutch to lean on because he is too blind to realize that it doesnt unite us like it did when it happened, it only frustrates us. They used it to gain confidence for Iraq, where it had no place, and now he is using it in all of his speeches because for some reason, it works! I am ashamed of our president, I think he could do some good if he really tried, but instead he is being a totally idiotic SOB in all situations, and sending us down the gauntlet black hole. ![]() |

do any of you actually believe the same old tired crap you keep shoveling out about President Bush, or are you just to brain dead to not realize that you are being brainwashed by the liberal media. do you have any idea of all the amazing results he is getting in the education, jobs, unemployment, homeland defense, welfare, social security, national defense, foreign aid, among so many other areas? SO WHAT if he isn't a good speaker. i would much rather have a president that spend his time and energy on SOLVING PROBLEMS than how best to look and sound in front of a camera. i admit the federal response to the hurricane could have been faster, but the local, city, and state response was in the negative. they had the buses, truckloads of food, water, showering supplies and all else that was needed, but the city officials turned them away because they didn't want more people than necessary becoming attracted to the stadium. and if you really want to place blame, they were allocated MILLIONS in state aid for jobs, education and unemplyment, but those funds were not used at all for the intended purpose. educate yourselves, people!! try and become responsible American citizens, don't just sit in front of the evening CBS crap news and believe anything they say at face value. why do you think the actual people that lived thru it and were there, after they heard the speech, said that beyond any shadow of a doubt they believed President Bush and trusted him. most of them blamed the local government, not the federal. come on guys.....exercise your brains too. enough of this crappola Bush bashing, stop hating so much, and try and help someone today instead of pointing fingers. i thank God every night that we have Bush as our president. he's not the best there is, but he's still damn good. much much better than Clinton ever was, and even more so than Kerry would have been. you all know it to be true, deep down inside. just stop hating and stop regurgitating the crap the liberal media feeds you.

Exactly. The White House press corps has been easier on this President than any other in my memory, and the Prez is known for not having many press conferences anyway. . .
All I'm gonna say about his speech is that it was sure nice they turned the power on in the French Quarter just for him - cuz they apparently turned it all off again within an hour after he was finished. There are still people living there, ya know. |

One (of the many) challenges we face here is the downed powerlines, dammaged junction boxes and failing transformers. Fire hazards are a daily threat to us. Thank God they finally got the water pressure up so the Fire Hydrants work. For the first week we had to go door to door kicking in residences and evacuating people because fires would rage out of control. This fire (attached photo) started as a small kitchen fire and within minutes engulfed the entire structure. Within 30 minutes the house next door was in flames and by one hour 2 city blockes were gone. (this pic was taken from the top of our command center). |

you guys are amazing. after all that, after i asked you to stop pointing the finger and plying the blame game and Bush bashing, all you see is 'brainwashed' and 'liberal media' . you actually believe the media is SOFT on bush? there are 2 sides to the media, conservative and liberal, that's what i meant by that. all i ever hear on the news, excluding the fair and balanced Fox news, is how much Bush's approval rating is going down. they celebrate every small mistake he makes. never once do they say anything positive about him or anything about all the great things he is always accomplishing. it wouldn't be that way with a Democrat in the white house. the liberal side of the media has gotten completely out of hand with this brainwashing of America to the point that our own president, President Bush, is automatically associated with being a complete imbesol. how is this possible if he is in his second term? he must be doing SOMETHING right. in fact, he is doing a LOT of things right. i thank God he is our president each and every day i raise my flag. you should too.

Seems to me that it is going to be a very long time before people can really live there again - they claim the air is in good shape, but soil and structural toxins have to be a problem, even after the waters are drained. I do hope you haven't had to encounter too many bodies, though. And I hope at some point we are able to get some kind of idea how many died from the disaster and how many died from the behavior of others. |

There is no internal stability at all with them, a lot of these agents were shuffled around not knowing what to name themselves, one day it would be customs the next they are homeland security, it was so bad that when we ask them what agency we can bill them they are not sure. This week I have been maintaining the cars and trucks for State Department who along side Secret Service have brought their vehicles in from other states for the United Nations 60th. anniversary. I want to post some pictures of some of the work I have done for these agencies but due to the obviouse security reasons I can't. I do have clearance to take post pictures of the restroom I use, maybe I'll post those. |
