ive heard about bio diesel a lot lately, wonder why its still not taken seriously? hell i dont care if my exhaust smells like french fries.

Then when the price of gas becomes obscene you can easily convert the fucker to biodiesel. Then you can drive down to the local McDonald and offer to take their used fryer oil at .75 cents a gallon (they usually pay $1.00 a gallon to have it hauled off). The conversion of used veggie oil costs around .45 cents so you make .30 cents and have fuel for your car. You're paying yourself to drive around. BRILLIANT! Oh yeah I'm drunk.![]()

Still Alive.
I was wondering the same...It's probably the usual excuse that people are lazy fucks in general.Originally Posted by TheCurse
The price of biodiesel is still more than petroleum diesel I believe. Also, I was unaware you could make it from used fryer oil, or any vegetable oil other than soybeans, but perhaps I was mistaken.
Why not just buy a 1 litre petrol car? Cheaper than a diesel engined one, and will get you 50+ mpg.
Personally, though I'd like to have a diesel moreEnded up with a petrol car, and bought my laptop with the money saved........
Suppose you can't even get that small a size of engine over there........

Who knows, I saw on PBS a guy using it about 15 years ago. It would certainly be fine for at least a percentage of vehicles to go that route, we'd get rid of waste and a few people would save some cash.Originally Posted by TheCurse

Last night after I got nice and drunk and read a little I went to watch some tv and Willie Nelson was on Bill Maher talking about how if we all went to biodiesel our farmers could supply us with all the fuel we'd need in soy beans then we wouldn't have to depend on foreign oil. Plus we could apply George Washington Carvers soy plastic technology and come out winners.

recent stories i have seen gave me the impression that it is easier than we think to use biodiesel. a standard diesel engine will not really have to be modified except perhaps chainging old rubber hoses. you can set up your own conversion rig in your garage for some not too many thousands of dollars, and there are places that dispense bio diesel although they are few currently.
one story showed a dude in his full size truck doing burnouts, he said the power was the same.
im always for blaming it on a big money conspiracy though, happens more than we think i imagine.

Alcohol/gasoline hybrid fueled cars make less power too, but they burn cleaner. The average Joe doesn't need 300 HP in a daily beater anyway.
Sunoco and a few other gasoline companies put out hybrid alcohol/gasoline fuel.

They have biodiesel Hummers. With all the french fries eaten by Americans daily I don't see why not.Originally Posted by TheCurse
