This was sent by a Public Relations representative to all of our producers at work. So, for those that visit or live in Los Angeles, please boycott this club "Mood".

"I think you should all be aware of an incident that occurred with my client Gabrielle Union and the owner of Mood. Mood was going to host her birthday party which is a week away. Once the owner found out she was African American he not only canceled her party but he proceed to say that he "didn't' realize Gabrielle Union was black. I thought she was the white volleyball player. I don't want her kind of people in my club."

I want to make you all aware of this so you can discourage your celeb clients from going and also doing any events with him. Thanks"

if not then he's clearly a racist...especially if he didn't even meet the girl before deciding not to let her rent the club...

I know a lot of clubs around Chicago get called racist for such strict dress codes(no jerseys, bling, etc.) to keep out ghetto riff (regardless of race). Letting in the ghetto can cause serious implications for the club.

Sorry, I was responding before I saw your second post. If you read the statement the owner cancelled after he realized she was "black" and thought she was the "white" volleyball player. If he canceled her for another reason, then I would think he wouldn't have said what he did in any context. Whatever the case may be, he may have just made a horrible business decision. I hope he fails.

I really doubt "black" would have come up if it wasn't because this person was indeed, black - famous or not.

I agree there is racism against black/ethnic people from white people. I also think that here in Australia it works opposite at least half the time with black/ethnic people; wanting financial support/ cheaper living/ attention beacuse of the colour they are/ police dont follow up reports involving these people/ want more respect because they are coloured. I think that black/ethnic people should stop complaining about racism untill they stop being racist. I know this is a narrow view, to one part of this problem, and brief conclusion of the topic but im sure you see my point.

I just googled this and the dude said he just booked a more lucrative event for the same night. Whether or not it was a racist reason I have no idea, but the dude is a dick regardless.
