    Schwarzenegger in Wal-Mart's pocket.

These problems pale into insignificance when compared with the trouble brewing back home. According to a piece in USA Today this week, Wal-Mart has built up a very cosy relationship with the California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, whereby Mr Schwarzenegger receives lavish contributions to causes close to his campaign organisation and in return votes down legislation aimed at curbing Wal-Mart's more odious labour practices - such as its habit of locking overnight shift-workers into the store where they work.

looks like a great source ...It's not even from here.

Maybe the real reason he voted down odious labor practices is b/c his state relies on cheap illegal Mexican labor...not Walmart, but I guess the Brits know about our affairs better than we do

^ Foreign publications are often better then American publications.

    Why?

Because foreign publications have been co-opted by the special interstests of big business and the politicians.

The American media both electronic (TV) and print, doesn't even inform us anymore.

    ^ NO.

This is NOT what I meant.

    I don't mean the Al-jazeeras and other anti-American publications.

I mean - in general - the international and foreign reporting.

    It is more objective.

Not pro or anti - just more objective and less biased.

The foreign publications I read do not consider themselves, "Left or Right."

The 'Left vs. Right' label and bias is more common in America than many other countries.

The Machiavelian approach to a degree is to observe, and report what is happening, noting the positives and negatives.

What is Left and Right in America? We don't even know anymore.

I believe it's one BIG CENTER - with Corporations, Special Interests, and the National government's politicians and bureaucrats who benefit.

And this doesn't happen among large new organizations anymore.

As for using The Independent as a source of news: has anyone read the rest of the articles on the homepage?

Left and right is simply conservative and liberal....ALL across the globe. FOR EXAMPLE:

French political spectrum...far left is the Green Party and the far right would be the Communist Party w/ the socialists (foremans favorite) and the democrats and french republicans in the middle. clearly there is a left and right everywhere...even in Iran who is at a far right position currently.

the point of bringing up the French was to exemplify to Mr. Sanfu that left/right applies to other nations besides the US

Yeah, horrible news source. Your newsource completely delegitimizes every point you were trying to make. Infact, it discredits all of your future posts 100%. We only settle for far and ballanced here. No spin zone. www.foxnews.com

I get my news from these guys hot off the government press.

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

I forgot that you only know how to catagorize people into two groups. Black or White. Nazi or Jew. Conservative or Liberal.
