Did US troops use chemical weapons in Falluja? The answer is yes. The proof is not to be found in the documentary broadcast on Italian TV last week, which has generated gigabytes of hype on the internet. It's a turkey, whose evidence that white phosphorus was fired at Iraqi troops is flimsy and circumstantial. But the bloggers debating it found the smoking gun.
The first account they unearthed in a magazine published by the US army. In the March 2005 edition of Field Artillery, officers from the 2nd Infantry's fire support element boast about their role in the attack on Falluja in November last year: "White Phosphorous. WP proved to be an effective and versatile munition. We used it for screening missions at two breeches and, later in the fight, as a potent psychological weapon against the insurgents in trench lines and spider holes when we could not get effects on them with HE [high explosive]. We fired 'shake and bake' missions at the insurgents, using WP to flush them out and HE to take them out."........................

Of course we used WP.. It has been an approved weapon of choice under the UN directives since korea. Is is considered a Chemical Weapon perhaps, is it a weapon of mass destruction like the nerve agents used in Iraq.........NO!

A dictator who used chemical weapons , while the US and the West turned a blind eye (because it suited them).
And they liberated Iraq!(cool...) They came in , they destroyed an infrastructure, they destroyed any cohesion(however imperfect that was) and replaced it with complete anarchy. For that is what Iraq is now.
They also replaced Saddam with another (pro American) phsycopath, and used chemical weapons -White Phosphorous- against 'insurgents'.
In the meantime the 50year old problem of the creation of Israel, is covered up non stop by the politicians and media, and acts like a nice cold sore to inflame arab opinion..........;

"The Fog of War: White Phosphorus, Fallujah and Some Burning Questions
by Andrew Buncombe and Solomon Hughes
The controversy has raged for 12 months. Ever since last November, when US forces battled to clear Fallujah of insurgents, there have been repeated claims that troops used "unusual" weapons in the assault that all but flattened the Iraqi city. Specifically, controversy has focussed on white phosphorus shells (WP) - an incendiary weapon usually used to obscure troop movements but which can equally be deployed as an offensive weapon against an enemy. The use of such incendiary weapons against civilian targets is banned by international treaty.
The debate was reignited last week when an Italian documentary claimed Iraqi civilians - including women and children - had been killed by terrible burns caused by WP. The documentary, Fallujah: the Hidden Massacre, by the state broadcaster RAI, cited one Fallujah human-rights campaigner who reported how residents told how "a rain of fire fell on the city". Yesterday, demonstrators organised by the Italian communist newspaper, Liberazione, protested outside the US Embassy in Rome. Today, another protest is planned for the US Consulate in Milan. "The 'war on terrorism' is terrorism," one of the newspaper's commentators declared...."

I dunno if they lied about it in the past, but it also depends on was asked- Bush, for instance, would have no idea what we're doing over there except for liberating oi.. ehehe, wait, someone will take that seriously, and start a serious debate here.. I hate it when I say things sarcastic then end up argueing that point just out of spite that the person is completely oblivious to the fact I was kidding.
As for WP usage.. If the UN approved of it I see no problem with it.. If its a question of hipocrisy.. I do believe the problem with Iraq having Chemical weapons was that they used them to gas their own population.. Which, while not positive, I do believe it was out of accordance with UN regulations. Also there was that thing where one day they decided to expand their territory into Kuwait- Which cost alot more lives. So I have a theory that we decided we didnt want a group like that to have such weapons.. and Im not even sure WP is one of the chemicals weapons the UN was worried about them having. Chemical weapons can be made to cause some serious, long term effects that are far far worse than anything WP has to offer.
I guess my point is- just because its a weapon of a chemical nature, doesnt automatically categorize it under the same class as other weapons of a chemical nature. But I digress, Im no expert, and have never heard of WP before today.
I have no idea! I see where you are going with this though....I think. The Us was indeed supplying Iraq with weapons for quite some time, we even sold them a hand full of F-16s. But Just because we armed a a country doesn't give them the liscense to use them on their own people. It would be like buying your son a shotgun and later he shooting you with it. Not really the intended purpose of the weapon. This is also digressing so I will stop...........................Originally Posted by BigDyl

problem of the creation of isreal? you want to elaborate on that a little bit, im not sure what your argueing.Originally Posted by Nick+
and to everyone complaining about WP being a chemical weapon, i can argue that grenades are chemical weapons due to the fact that it is a chemical reaction that causes the explosion.
It doesn't matter...WP is approved for use by the "all mighty and all knowing UN" as long as its not intended to be used on civilians...
do some innocent die...yes, but i doubt they are a primary target
I couldn't be bothered to read the rest of this thread, but the initial story is true, and this is the chemical they used...
What's worse? It's made of people. People damn you, people!!!!!!!!!!!!
