    Arnold and Lou

Look, Arnold would downgrade his own height to give a better image of Lou's massive frame. On Pumping Iron, they set the contest stage up to add inches on Lou. In the dressing room, Lou, would wear shoes while Arnold did not! These techniques gave the fans of Body Building an impression that Arnold and Lou were David and Goliath. Why would they need to do this if Arnold was only 6-2? I have met Arnold on the Beach when he was only 30, in his barefeet, and I can tell you, this man is at least 6-4. No Question.

I'm 6'1'' and met Lou 4 years ago at Golds Venice, I would guess he was about 6'3'' the same height as my best friend. Also Lou was a very nice guy and great to talk with.

I met both of them at the same time and I never had a chance to gauge their heights since they both dropped to their knees before me and begged forgiveness of their past and future sins.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

As far as I know Arnold was 6' 2" and Lou was 6' 5", I am sure they have both shrunk a good inch since that movie was filmed 30 years ago.

Either way, this type of thing is done all of the time in films, look at actors such as Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. Hoffman is about 5' 5" and Cruise is about 5' 7".

IMO Lou could have been one of if not the greatest bodybuilder we've seen to date. Well aside from Ronnie... Not sure why he didn't excell. Anybody know details?

He quit bodybuilding and went into acting, then he made his comeback in the 90's. I disagree though, he was a bit too blocky.

Too blocky. Think so? I thought he had a great build from what I saw. Which really wasn't much mind you. He could have had unbelievable size...

    .
So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

Its almost ironic that as he got older Lou got freakier during his comeback, 1997ish? He was listed at the Masters Olympia as being 317 on stage and he was huge.

No doubt. Imagine if he'd never left the scene...
