Who offers the best cell phone service?

I currently have Alltel. Their coverage area/phone reception is great (seems like I can get a signal anywhere). However, their customer service is lacking, and I'm not sure I will renew my contract with them. Which carrier do you use? Are you satisfied with them?

I have heard Alltell is the best for reception.

I have used T-Mobile and Cingular. Cingular blows T-mobile away wrt to customer service and signal. T-mobile=no signal in VT, Cingular=great signal in VT. T-mobile fucked me on a bill and Cingular has not. When due a new phone from T-mobile, I was never told, with Cingular they let you know on your online account.

I think Verizon, although pricey, has the best everything. The same thing T-Mobile screwed me on happened to a friend with Verizon and they just fixed the issue by removing the call. I had a 300 minute call to a number in my phone book at 7:15am. The number was in CA and must have been dialed when my phone was in my pocket. Why the fuck would I make a 300 minute call to CA on a Tuesday at 3:15am their time. Their solution was to ask me if I wanted instruction on how to use the Keyguard. Fuckers.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Tookie Williams...j/k sorry couldn't resist. Seriously though, I have T-mobile and their coverage sucks, but they have been outstanding for customer service. They will do anything for me. But alas, I am leaving them this January, because I need better coverage in Florida. I would say that it all depends on your needs as far as service goes. Are you needing good coverage in just your area, or do you need it all across the US? Can you handle bad customer service in trade for that coverage? Or is money no object to you, because if so, some companies provide great coverage, but at a higher price. Also, single phone or family plan? Don't mean to bombard you with questions, but certain companies are better then others on offering one thing or another.

It all depends on what you expect from a provider and what state you're in. So far I think the best service here in Hawaii has been Cingular. I've tried verizon, sprint and t-mobile.

surprised to hear the negative on T-Mobile...I have had great experiences with their customer service and very little problems with signal. maybe it depends on the state you're in?

Verizon. They have the best coverage I've seen so far.

I have cingular. Great costumer service. When I first bought the phone last March signal strength wasn't that good, in the last few months it seems that the
reception has gotten great. I get service everywhere.

Def. Here it depends on which side of the Island, where the companies towers are positioned and whether you live in a valley, all valley's get poor reception, plus North Shore or the country part of Town & Country gets very bad reception for every service I've had.

You need to do your research amongst people in your area and find out if the places you frequently go to will have the reception you expect.

If you don't know or talk to too many people then I guess you can try this.

We used to have T-Mobile. We now use Cingular. Great coverage. Great products.

I agree with the previous posts. It does depend on your location and what region you reside in. I know that during the Katrina Disaster (in New Orleans) all of the guys using T-Mobile and Sprint were having a terrible time while those of us using cingular had pretty decent service.

I've had Verizon, AT&T, and just switched today to Cingular. AT&T was okay. I can't speak for Cingular yet, but they do have excellent customer service.
