Does this take up a lot of computer space?

I have a folder with over 3500 BMP's in it. I don't know a lot about computers, but is this taking more space than it's worth? I use the folder for my screensaver to cycle through the images.

When I click properties on the folder it says Size: 4.94 GB. I dunno, seems like that might help

I would never have something taking that much space on my computer for a screensaver. I'm anal about it though. If you have enough free space, then save this deleting for when you need to for something more important (Porn).

BMP's always hog up your PC, try converting them to JPG's or GIF's.

convert 3500 pics to JPG? Is there a way to do this other than one by one? Furthermore, is there a way that wouldn't crash the comp?

You could transform all of them in an animated gif.

Irfanview will do a batch convert. I like to use the 95% compression/quality.
