It's begun already - the post xmas guilt club

In the gym today, I noticed what seems to be the start of many people feeling guilty after xmas and joining a gym... then typically quiting after 1 month.

It's good in that it provides much needed £££ to the gym but at the expense of access to weights and leads to overcrowding.

    Anyone else have this?

Newbies don't show up at 5:30 am, so I don't think it will effect me too much.

I like to greet each new person by saying "Thanks for subsidizing my gym membership. Don't forget to clean out your locker each time you leave. You never know what trip will be your last...but probably this one."

haha, i noticed that today as well

I got to the gym around 10:15 am and it was unbelievably crowded .. more than ive ever seen before. I was thinking "Ha, well here's where all the fat people come in trying to erase their guilt from the day before" and i step inside and there i see .. countless overweight people on the treadmills. I gotta give props to them but still .. they won't be there anymore in a few weeks.

But what if they need to do curls?...
May the Lord Jesus Christ bless those who bless me as I gladly accept their blessings, and curse those who curse me all the while protecting me for any evils. In Christ name, amen...

I barely found a parking spot.... It was a mess in there, they just did a big "equipment upgrade" which consisted of a bunch of new treadmills and bikes on the cardio side and new hooks for the cables on the weight side

So many cries of inequality stem from one of group
of people doing little or nothing and then bitching
about another group that actually does something
    to improve their lives.

January and February suck if you go to the gym a little late. All those soccer moms that are "finally going to work out". Yah right!!

Tonight wasn't too bad... There were a few more people than usual, some of which I haven't seen there before. The new people weren't using the squat or power racks so I don't really care.

Everybody has to start somewhere you should tolerate them and try to help, don't discourage them. If though, some newb comes into my gym they're in for a hard cardio session cause my dogs will be all over their ass in 5 seconds. I love home gyms.

What sucks is that I am looking for a new gym while all of this crap happens. Tonight I check out Future Fitness which is across the road. UPENNs gym will be too ridiculous for the next 3 months for me to use.
