Menstrual suppression
Centuries ago people saw menstruation in different ways in eastern and western societies. In some cultures it was saw as a sacred thing and in others people saw it as a bad thing, capable of killing animal and plants. I dont know how or why but people suppressed their menstruation. But the blood usually found a way out. Eyes, breasts and legs were common places for the blood to get away.
