I would never do that. That really gets on my nerves...

Sometimes. The Emo Ninja would never talk about himself in the 3rd person.

    k, I asked him a few times!

    Me:
Have you ever noticed that some people talk a lot about themselves?
    God:
" Bye!" some people talk a lot about themselves ? I get it. Yeah, I've noticed.

Americans talk about themselves because it is cultural I believe.

I never perceived this until I started living overseas.

    Now, it nauseats me.

"I remember back when I and my friends were...."

    "I'm from....."

    "I work for....."

    I've done this...."

    I've done that...."

    "I went there once...."

    I like to...."

    Will you please....shut....up?
Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.

Everybody likes tooting their horn about about themselves. Some talk more than others. Some will say enough to keep the conversation going, but most seem to like the sound of their own voice

Being an adept listener is not common. Besides you can learn more about a person by listening rather than talking to them, IMO.

Who better to idolize than yourself.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
