    New car suggestions?

so i fucked up my car about a month and a half ago. i'm looking for a new one now, but unfortunately what i want is almost impossible to find. i had a 97 Infiniti I30T with a shit ton of miles, 147k when i bought it and 200k when i totalled it. the funny thing is i never had one problem, OEM everything, tranny, engine etc. all i ever did to that car was fix what i broke, change oil, brakes, shocks etc. the usual shit when it comes to cars.

so now thats done and i wanted another one, except newer but same generation. i wanted a 99 w/a 5spd tranny. found one two, bout 20 miles away from me in Jersey but the guy sold it the day i was gonna go out there too see it. twas a sweet car, black on black, fully loaded, 5spd.

so now i'm fuckin stuck, i can't find a decent I30t (i want the t because they came with a variable slip differential) so i need to find another car that fits my criteria.

it has to be fairly sporty in terms of steering response, cornering ability etc. i hate boaty type cars and find that i want to gouge my eyes out when i drive one (i work valet, so i get to drive lots of cars around). i also want a fairly luxury type car, most importantly i want a sun/moon roof and heated seats. the thing that i REALLY REALLY want is a stick, but its very difficult to find a car that i would like on stick. my budget is up to 6k and reliability is a must cause i'm in college and don't have money to drop into maintaining a car that will break every week or two.

so any suggestions out there guys? i'm thinking now that i should get an older 3 series, like a 96 or something but i don't know how reliable they might be. i wanted a lincoln LS but they are impossible to find. i'm sorta out of ideas now and i need a car before mid february when school really starts (i'm only taking one class during the winter semester here).

Maybe a mid 90's 3 series they are reliable to some extent and def sporty. You could even pick up a M3 for that amount if you look hard enough not sure if bimmers are your tihng though. Stay away from Audi's because they are horrible in reliability especially the S4.

Buy a used car, about 5-7 years old.

    Look for a good deal.

    Pay cash.

Car loans are for loser and wimps.

he still in school though, If he gets a loan then everything is under warrantee, and he has no surprise bills. then once he's done school he can ditch the lease and get a car he wants!

    ^ OK, cool, man.

I'm just anti-car, even though we often need one in North America.

    I haven't had a car in 5 years.

Jake, damn bro. look at you pimp status S4 is a sweet car, but waaay out of my league. My brother said he wants an S4 now though cause his GS430 is too boaty, lol.

I don't want to lease a car because that requires one to get full coverage insurance, which living in NY is a tad too expensive for me. I need a decently reliable luxury sedan on stick that i can abuse for a couple of years till i get out of college and get something real nice. also, keep in mind i work on my cars myself as my brother has everything one could possibly need to fix a car except a lift in our garage. he would've gotten one but our garage is too small, he is thinking of digging a pit, lol.

I usually dont talk up US autos that much, but

Everyone that I have talked to about the Aurora's has loved their car
and had no problems at all with them...

They are pretty swank inside also IMO

    Just another suggestion

Might I reccomend the Bugatti Veyron.

The car with the most horsepower?
The car with the fastest top speed and acceleration?
    The most expensive car?
At the moment, the Bugatti Veyron appears to have it all:

A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower
A top speed of 253+ mph (400+ kph)
    A zero-to-60 time of 2.4-2.6 seconds
    A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds
A price tag somewhere in the $1 million range.

When the car reaches 253 MPH, the onboard computer won't let it exceed this. Beyond this speed the tires would explode.

Btw, it's only about a inch narrower in the front than a Hummer.

Monkey, yeah i'll to check out the aurora, my buddy had one a couple of years ago and it was pretty nice from what i remember. RL's are pretty nice too, but the new ones not the older ones i forget which year is which but the newest ones are great while the older ones i wouldn't touch.

BigDyl, as far as the fastest acceleration i think the Lingenfelter C5 Vette got the Veyron beat. Sub 2 second 0-60 unless i'm remembering wrong, and that car looks bone stock until you mash the gas and disappear.

TOM, PT Cruisers are THE worst cars ever. if someone gave it to me i'd sell it and buy something else, lol.

i was also considering 92-99 ES300 but i think they are pretty ugly cars personally, although if one came around with a 5 spd i would jump all over it.

If you don't have a foreign made car with a carbon fiber hood, flame decals on the side, and shitty sounding 4 inch exhuast tips, then who are you? I don't know you.

I know how I live. A quarter mile at a time.

damn with that kind of budget, I don't think you'll find anything decent or better then your i30. Iwould look into a 96-99 eclipse GST, fast, stick, light weight, just like you like it. If yo budget was a little higher, i'd look into any japanes luxury sedan, not eauropean cos they too expensive.
