Unhappy Not occupied or put to use:The meaning of vacant or what fills the minds of our youth

Yesterday, while at the grocery store, I suddenly felt the urge to take a leak. I went into the mens room, relieved myself while reading the grafitti by tag artists named AVoiD and ExTEC. As I step out of the room I see this late teenaged girl doing the pee-pee dance in front of the womens restroom. She looks at me and asks, "Does VACANT mean locked?" At first I was thinking how anyone could go 17/18 years not knowing the meaning of VACANT, so I hesitated in answering thinking maybe I just hallucinated it all. Then I had to answer cause the look on her face was so sincere I said, "VACANT means not occupied, empty." The future scares me people.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

That's what your grandparents said about your parents, and your parents said about you.

    It's all relative.

80 years ago if you didn't know how to use a sewing machine or, drive a stick shift, or you didn't know how use a "ice box" you were considered dim. Today most people under the age of 25-30 ( much less 17/18 ) could do any of the above. So?
