U2 used to be cool back in the Joshua Tree day's and before, now they're way too pop. Besides I have an emotional attachment to 'This Velvet Glove' from Californication. So the Chili Peppers are the ticket.

Are you serious? RCHP are great, but most of their songs sound exactly the same--most are cheesy, wannabe-rap songs with the lead singer saying crazy ass shit that doesn't make any sense at all. For example, here are some lyrics from "Around the World"
I know I know for sure
Ding, dang, dong, dong, deng, deng, dong, dong, ding, dang.
    I know I know it's you
Ding, dang, dong, dong, deng, deng, dong, dong, ding, dang.

This is to you and Bigdyl. I think the best band is the "Monkey man and the Banana peels" So i choose to vote for none of the above and made it my own option. Don't like my face fuck it. Don't like my nose stick it up your ass.

First Anthony Kiedis is a superior lyricist compared to Bono. Musically RHCP kick U2's ass.

to quote Henry Rollins:U2, in particular, bug me because it's like such a bad rhythm section. They're kind of a one-trick band that's propped up by really good production. I do applaud Bono's humanitarian efforts; getting third-world debt acknowledged, trying to help AIDS in Africa and lending awareness to that. I think that's great and I'm sure he contributes a lot of his own money to that. That stuff is also great because it keeps him out of the studio, so there's no downside to this.

Bono is always recycling metaphors and similes in his songs like in Vertigo:
The night is full of holes
    Those bullets rip the sky

I mean come on, Bullet The Blue Sky is from The Joshua Tree in the 80's. That's where they dropped off of my charts, then everything was just like remixes with a heavy pop-cultured laquer on top.

I hardly think a person who yells all of his lyrics is qualified to judge music.

In the end, I would listen to neither, but I would turn off U2 first, but they are the better band.
