Give the border a wood grain texture and the inside bg a green felt texture and it'll look like a pool table.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Maybe you can add real cowboys instead of that drawing.

I thought that the pic was only a sample layout. But i se that would have been your finished product (or nearly). I agree with the feedback. A little touch of color would be nice.

Flash not really necessary. You can have it on a site where you want the user to interact with the site. But on a site where the user will mostly read info, IMO, it is not really necessary. Even if you decide to add it, dont make it constantly 'flash' around the site. That is very distracting and annoying to the viewer who is trying to read the page.

And what is with the underscore between the words of the left navigation? Those need to go. If information can be grouped, then work out the navigation that way. E.g. main heading 'cues' with sub categories such as 'care, cases...etc'.

I know you said he wants to keep his present site. But hope this feedback helps you for future sites. Just curious, Did you plan to do a dynamic site or static?
