The ERIE railroad - its history

Check this out at your local library. If they do not own it have them borrow it for you from another library:

BETWEEN THE OCEAN AND THE LAKES, by Edward Mott

It is a damn good history of the early days of the Erie Railroad - it is WELL WORTH your time to read. See what happened in the past and how this country (USA) was developed and by who and the "why" and the "how".

Good history written well is not always easy to find. Check this one out and see for yourself. Mr. Mott tells it like it was and truthfully.

This is one you can truly have fun reading - and learning.

    Hi Ghost,

No, I just like history and learning about it.

I work construction every day and I own my own farm. And I work out - seriously and religiously.

It is just one of my many interests.

It is a damn good book. It was originally published in 1898. Borrow it from your library or have them get it for you from another library if they do not own it. It is REALLY WORTHWHILE.

    Hi MyK,

Go to www.google.com and type in "BETWEEN THE OCEAN AND THE LAKES" by Edward Mott. See what this book is all about. READ the book and do your own research to see if - as YOU say - "... (it) is nothing but leftist propaganda! pure fiction..." - IF you do so HONESTLY you will see otherwise.

    Hi MyK,

NOT A SINGLE word about it...

Or course, that does NOT mean that it did not happen among the workers while building the railroad....

John Henry gave it his all, beat the machine, and died a few hours later. Just listen to his last words...

    Hi Gococks,

"... cuts ...." are DAMN NICE, the DEEPER AND more DEFINED the BETTER!!!!!

Or course, railroads have "cuts" too - but of a different kind....
