    xm or sirius radio?

    So which one is better?

I never really listened to howard stern was always more of an O&A guy. Then again my friend just got sirius and I was listenin to some howard shit and it was funny as hell.

Also more of a country/rock type of guy and I think xm has more of a selction.

Which do ya'll think is better?

I got Sirius a couple of weeks ago. As far as I saw, the music selection really isn't that different between the two, although XM does has more channel choices. I chose Sirius because of the NFL coverage...they broadcast every NFL game. I liked XM's baseball coverage, but the only baseball team I care about is the Red Sox and I can listen to them on local AM radio.

Really, I think both systems look pretty good. I don't listen to talk radio, so I really don't care about listening to Howard Stern.

I am guessing because the addition of Howard Stern will drive sales and new subscribers, thus more money for Sirius which leads to a wider range of channel choices.

XM was the first, and being more established at the time
was picked up as OEM by the auto manufacturers..

But local shops are now doing conversions to change car setups
from XM to Sirius... and some OEMs are now offering Sirius

Also Sirius stock has been on a steady climb

hahaha....I know what you mean. You don't one company controlling prices though. Competition keeps prices reasonable and quality pushing forward.

Whichever one you go with, you'll be happy with it.

NPR is better. So is our local college station.

I think getting a MP3 stereo with a 6 disc changer in my car would be more valuable than sat. radio, then I could set up my own virtual stations.

Sat radio (XM in my case) blows regular radio out of the fucking water. I even took my antenae off of my car.

I have Sirius, never even looked at XM honestly. I listen primarily to, 22, 27 (Metal), 33, 34, 100/101 (Howard), 104/105 (Comedy)

There are also classical and other stations but I haven't checked them out yet. Basically there are 2-5 stations for just about every kind of genere.

Indeed. Satellite radio is to radio what cable TV is to TV. But satellite radio is better IMO because there are zero commercials (except for the informational bits the DJ's announce, but they are not trying to sell you anything).
