    reformating

Ok, I need to delete my current partition and create a new one. So I go into BIOS and change it to boot from the cd, put in my windows xp cd but it just logs into windows anyways, not what I want it to do. So that doesn't work. So next I tried to do new instalation, already logged into windows, but it crashes everytime. Says something about a memory dump, I think, something like that. I even tried that when I closed down all my programs, still crashed. Anyone know how to do this shit a better way than I do? It's been a while since I deleted a partition.

Q16: How do I Reinstall Window®s or run the system restore without a Recovery CD?
Q1 : To restore the system back to its original state you may use the restore partition on the hard disk drive. To access this partition press the "F10" or "R" hot key while booting.

i've reinstalled mine from the partition. n did several installs from disc before on an older pc.

Your copy of Windows XP is probably a bootleg that doesn't have the bootable sector written on it. Just borrow a real copy from a friend (or download a better copy, like an ISO image).

That advice is only for pc's with a recovery disc and back partition mainly a compaq or hp. Usuallay you need to press a key once it detects the bootable cd rom to boot from a disc, otherwise it will continue to boot the hard drive. I would go into the bios, set the cdrok to first boot priority and disable the hard drive (set it to none) just to verify the system is capable of booting the disc. Once that works reactivate the hd still with the cdrom at a higher priority.

Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
