This might be the coolest show I've ever seen...

There is this guy who can do large mathmatical calculations in seconds without memorization because he see's numbers that corespond to 3d shapes in his mind. Apparently he had a seizure when he was young, and after the seizure he had gained the ability.

They had him memorize pi 25,000 digits past the decimal point, and he recited it all correctly in 6 hours or so.

So does he even know how to do math or does he just see the answer? That would be the shit.

He just see's the answer in a shape.

Watch the videos, you will see.

He see's two shapes, for example:

an oval is 367339 and a polygon is 93839. Between these two shapes is another shape that looks like a rectange, and contains the right number.

He can learn a new language in a week.

So they sent him to iceland to learn that language, which is supposedly the hardest language to learn because of the dialect, and he learned it in a week.

I understand, I watched the videos. But can he explain the mathematical computations that are used to arrive at an answer, or does he just see a certain shape. If someone asked him to teach a class in finite math or something, could he do it or would he just draw circles all day?

Both. If he took the time to learn how to do it, which he could memorize very fast, he could teach. Otherwise he can look at shapes and know answers.

There's an Indian guy like this. He said that he could "see" the answer. Scans showed that when he was answering a question, there was a lot of activity in the part of the brain that controls vision.

He's already done that. The load he shoots makes topolo's look like an incorrect answer for pi when only going 10 places past the decimal point.

This is a rare thing that happens when sense perceptions are crossed up and crazy.....rare to happen all the time? but normally its just drug induced.
He automatically visualizes the information thats going on in the "math" part of his brain.....or maybe his math part is not even there and his spatial relation part just took over...cool stuff.
