I am afraid not Dale. We will be there for years in some sort of capacity. Too much oil to just leave all by itself!

If the oil ran out, this world would be a better place. I would eliminate oil to get rid of radical terrorists any day.

I'm not surprised GWB had his people set a large explosion to heavily damage the golden dome of one of Iraq’s most famous Shiite shrines Wednesday....he will do anything to keep the war going, what a criminal.

But oil is not the cause of terrorism. Terrorists are not planning terror attacks to capture oil reserves.

Countries who house terrorists do. Don't you think that if they didn't have that oil that they would be begging us for money, and thus we could just stop the flow of money?

I am sure we would all be fighting over the next fuel source, but don't you think it would be nice if it were a bunch of sane people that controlled it?

There is more oil in Canada than the Middle East... We just never developed the infrastructure to get it because it is more expensive to get out of the tar sands than in the Middle East.

I remember when I studied this in school, they said it wouldn't make economical sense to get this Canadian oil until they could sell gas for about $1.50 gallon... guess what the last couple of years Canadian oil business has been booming like crazy and there are now companies working hard to get the infrastructure in place to get more and more of this oil which will greatly reduce our dependance on the Middle East.

... and Canadians tend to not shoot at Americans

I think you should look for oil, starting with Topolo. Drill there first.

IMO, having any person(s) in total control of a major source as such will sooner or later result in megalomanic tendencies.

Bombs worked pretty well in bringing peace to Europe and the Pacific in WWII.

If you can't appreciate America, then get the fuck out. Go live somewhere else, you obviously don't know how good you have it here. You're spoiled. We all are, but only a few realize it.

You can exercise free speech all you want, be critical all you want, but making stupid, unproductive, baseless insults against the country you choose to live in, is nothing short of hypocrisy.

It puts us in the driver seat as opposed to the passenger seat. But Seriously, do you not think Iran needs sanctions against it for it's nuclear program it has started? Well if they don't have oil bringing in money they don't have much of a choice, do they? It makes us different from them because we are the teacher to the Arab world's student. If the teacher gets mad they send you to detention, if the student gets mad they plan a Columbine-style slaughter.

I don't think this is true for everyone. We have plenty of food and we give it to African nations. Having said that, the US would horde oil if given the opportunity. I would think Britain or Canada would be fine places to have control oil, although there would be less Canadian strippers which is a definite negative to the whole thing.

You agreed with my bombing comment, and know the truth about rights being sacraficed for security.

Sacraficing rights for security IS letting the terrorists win.

Your arguement for leaving a country because you don't agree with where it is heading is extremely flawed.
