I was in a tournament today and playing in a 20k guaranteed game, winner got $4,000, 2nd got $2,500. I was in the chip lead by 4x when we hit heads up, I lost a big pot and ended up still chip leading but only barely. The guy asked for a chopped pool, I said fine because it had been 5 1/2 hours of play and my ass HURT from sitting so long (I'm the type that needs to be up moving). So my client froze for a minute, which I thought meant the Admin had taken control (I had never chopped a prize pool on this site before) and so I went up to use the bathroom, stretch and grab a bite. Well I come back, and the guy started playing again and I was down to 1/8th of my chips. The Admin finally comes on and says, "I read that you guys agreed to a chop," and the other guy immediately piped up with "Fuck no, not anymore." And with the blinds at 30,000, I ended up out fairly soon after.

I was quite upset. I understand it's my fault for trusting the guy, but I think it shows a bit of a lacking character in him.

Musclepump: "...and I have a gambling problem. It's been 3 days since I placed my last bet, and.....and I think i'm making progress. It's getting.......it's getting easier."

I'm sorry about that. I know that sucks. It really burns when you get taken advantage of, and it definitly shows bad character on his part. The best thing you can do is learn from this experience by not being like him

I don't know what a "chop" is, but in all honesty, you think that dude that you'll never meet from somewhere around the world cares that you lost out on some cash that he won? (not to be a dick, but thats just my opinion)


If it makes you feel any better, tonite I made it to heads up vs. a buddy of mine. We both had about equal chips, with the blinds just getting raised to where they were now pretty important.

I'm big blind, with an Ace/7 of spades. He calls the blind. I raise to 2.5x's the big blind. He calls.

Flop comes.....8 6 5 of Spades (I try not to shit myself)

He checks. I check.

(I'm hoping 4th st will strengthen his hand) and a King falls.

He goes all in.

I say: "Call.........thanks for playing" and show him my nut flush.

I know that doesn't make you feel much better..........but hey, i tried

A chop when playing heads up is combining the top two prizes and cutting it in half, half going to each player.

I would never agree to chop and then get up and leave. It takes like 2 minutes to chop, plus you have to be there to confirm. That said, shitty deal.

Really sucks. My wife plays online poker. Foreman can verify that. There are a lot of assholes that play.

By the way, what was the buyin on that game? Must have been close to $700-800

not necessarily....yoy can chop any way that you want.

you can also chop with any amount of players. I have chopped 3 way quite a few times and even once with four.

buy-in was probably around $100-$150
