He should have worn an eye patch and pretended to be a pirate.

not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear

no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012
I remeber watching him lik eit was yesterday...wow how time flys. Only 44 though...R.I.P. Kirby!!!

where's the source?
Hate to hear it. KP was a helluva ballplayer. I will always remember him going yard against Charlie Leibrant in the series. Sad day indeed.

He was only 44. Way too young to die.

There are probably alot more, but those are the more noticeable ones who are out of shape...Plus Kirby gained alot of weight after retirement...although when he played he was out of shape too...just not big time...
anyways,
I think its pretty sad that they keep showing that speech of him saying "Live every day to it's fullest, because tomorrow is not promised to any of us..."
They shouldnt show that...It's way too sad...
AHaha.....I didn't know he died.
Yeah, Kirby was def. not the typical baseball player.

All people die.
He bit the dust.

That sucks. He was the man. Way too young to die.

I agree. I think he is in excellent shape.Originally Posted by IainDaniel
Yea Roger is well known to be in great shape and have serious off season training. But I must agree on David Wells and some of the others. Hell look at softball leagues theres a bunch of guys that can hit it a mile and play like hell but are far from good shape. Baseball only involves exertion in short spans so theres plenty of room to be a barrel ass but still be a great ball player.

I heard about this and was surprised. Last I remember was his early retirement from a cataract. He was one of the greats in his playing days no doubt.
