    DVD Player (Program)

Just wondering if anyone knew of any programs on the computer which could simulate as a DVD player. I know it sounds weird, but I want to read DVD format files that I have downloaded on my computer as if they were an actual DVD put into a stand alone DVD player. I am not talking about a DVD-rom or a program that will just run each individual VOB file by itself; I want a program that I can play all DVD format files in a given folder in order without stopping until the end, including playing the menus, etc..

Looking for a good one that is free.

I use cyberlink powerdvd, which plays from the hdd

Download the trial, see if it's what you're looking for

Or just buy a decoder, windows media player should play the dvd fine, with all the menus. I think nvidia has a free trial on their decoder to try out.

I use windvd, don't know if it was free or not, though. mine came via bit torrent so it was free to me.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

I like Cyberlink PowerDVD also. It has a nifty feature where you can take snapshots during the movie.

I have the Cyberlink DVD player already but does it read entire folders full of files continuously as if it were a real DVD, or does it just read individual files when you open them? I think it is the latter.

One of the reasons I wanted a program that would read DVD-format files on my harddrive as if it were a real DVD inserted into the DVD-ROM is because I downloaded a bunch of files that compose a DVD (and would play as such when burned onto a DVD-R and put into a DVD player) but when I went to burn it onto a real DVD, it didn't play right in my DVD player (chapter order, menu, etc.). I want a program so I can test the information (played continuously like a real DVD would, including menus, etc.) before I burn it to a DVD-R so I don't waste anymore discs.
