Goddamn KEFE you are spamming like a mofo.

I had a 4gb Nano but brought it back. Battery life and memory were what prompted me to return it.
If sense were common, everyone would have it.

Had to wipe it out under my Win98 partition because XP for some reason misread the volume label and could not talk to it. I used the Anapod Reinitializer under Win98, wiped it clean, and started over.

iTunes is a pain in the ass if your ID3 tags aren't all correct, any typo in the band name for example will create a whole entry just for that typo.

MusicBrainz makes a freely downloadable ID3 tagger which attempts to lookup files on an online db to tag help tag your files. That probably helped clear up some issues.

I'd suggest turning off the option in iTunes (if you use it) to SORT MY FILES, because any ID3 screwups will destroy the folders sorting just as it would on your iPod. I started cleaning up my stuff and removing from my iPod folder known problem files (incorrectly ID3 tagged), synched with my iPod, looked for screwups and fix them little by little as I go. I have about 3/4 of my library back on my iPod which is good enough for now. It at least got me my tunes for the gym again.

Some technical issues like the neccessity to reformat after only a couple weeks old (probably from unplugging it it incorrectly a number of times without 'ejecting' it in Windows), but all in all a good product. Plus you can get accessories for it like FM broadcasters so you can take it with you everywhere.

60 gig video here. Supposedly the next one may be 100GB and the whole front of the unit will be a screen. Battery life is fine for me, my FM broadcast for the car charges it as I go, and I'm not in the gym for mega hours so it always gets a charge before then. If I were a student trying to listen for 6 hours straight while not paying attention in class, and always changing my tunes (turning on the backlight thusly) then I suppose it could be a problem.

    Fuck all of that guys.
Here is a very useful Computer tip I will give to any of you Ipod shuffle users.
Here are the links to files you need to download and install in order to hack your shuffle so that you can put any song that you want on it at anytime on any fucking operating system.

http://www.python.org/ - This is the link to install the python runtime components. It is very easy, you just have to select your operating system because python is multi-platform and can run on UNIX, Linux, 98, XP, Mac, what the fuck ever else.

http://shuffle-db.sourceforge.net/ - This link will provide you with the information you will need to install and run the song database builder. The dbb is written in python, and that is why you had to install the software in the first mentioned link. then you must copy all of the files located in the database builder zip file on to your Ipod's main directory.

Once all is complete, simply copy your MP3's from your song folder to the Ipod's main director or the song folder, it doesn't really matter, and run the icon that has a picture of a snake.

Viola, you now have a hassle free Ipod shuffle. I have had my shuffle for over a year and have never even loaded Itunes.

These hacks are also availble for the nano, but I liked my shuffle too much to upgrade yet, so I haven't taken the time to figure out how to hack it. Not to mention I ate a 2mg latter about an hour ago and I am tired of thinking.

I have over 150 fucking songs on my 512Mb Ipod, and can reload it in under 2minutes with another 150 songs. Please tell me why the fuck you would need more than that?

Btw, I am an Ipod supporter on the fact that mine is a year and a half old, still gets 10 hours of play on one charge, has never failed me once, hasn't cost me a dime as far as loading music, and fits comfortably in my pocket while I workout.

Maybe they're called high peformance/high quality...any-hoo... getting earphones is similar to buying speakers for a stereo...you might have a high quality music system...but if you hook up $20 speakers to the system...it's gonna sound like cr*p. makes sense? think of them as mini-speakers. some have much more base...etc...

I got a middle-of-the-road earphones...but much better than what came with the ipod. I've listened to several...some costing up to $300!!! i couldn't believe the difference in quality.

I believe you are referring to noise cancling earbuds. I have considering buying a pair The problem as that I keep shorting out my Ipod buds with sweat during workouts, and I am afraid to spend big money just to have the same thing happen.

To be honest, the old overhead styles are more practical and useful, but earbuds look better. Wow, that sounds so dumb now that I said it out loud.
Why do I care about what I look like while I work-out.
Wait, thats the whole point of working out is how I look.
Ok ok sorry, the Xanax/Ambien combo is sorta kicking my ass at the moment. I think I need to refrain from posting anymore tonight.

    This is what I bought:

    http://www.headphoneworld.com/HeadPh...ookie%5Ftest=1

Does anyone know how I would make the above link say "earphone" ...then it would send you to the link? I've seen it done.

Any-hoo...a couple of the Big Boys/Body Builders at the gym had the same ones with thier ipod. That's where I 1st heard them. These men work HARD, sweat...and they seem to be holding up. The sound is much better than with the earphones that came with the ipod...IMO.

I couldn't get the ipod earphones in my ears. These fit my ears...all nice and cozy...2 sizes come in the pkg also.
