    Arrow Star Wars Fans....?

So for any of you guys or gals that are fans of any of the Star Wars movies, I am just curious to get someopinions b/c I have been catchin alot of flack for actually liking Episodes 1-3. Seemingly everyone that I talk to goes on and on about how the original 4-6 are far superior and the second trilogy is just weak. I personally was never a big fan of 4-6 UNTIL 1-3 came out and added great depth to the somewhat simple story. Anyways I am of the opinion that 4-6 need to be remade and other fans treat that statment like its blasphemous. so who likes the second trilogy and who thinks that a remake of 4-6 would be sweet?

I saw the most recent movie whenever it was that it came out, it was horrible. The fight scenes were completely fake, I felt nothing towards the characters, and just overall felt it was a fcking waste. I went to go see it because my nerd friend wanted to.

I'm a nerd in my own way but those movies just suck. The original is way better.

You can't beat Harrison Ford in any movie, sorry Gr8 but I disagree.

ok yeah they were influential for teh time, but lest we forget that when the original came out, it BARELY got finished, it had NO funding, and Lucas talks all the time how much of the story he had to sacrifice b/c of the lack of technology. Also people say that the newer ones don't feel like star wars, but the two trilogys are meant to have a different feel. The latter is a time of repression for the republic, but the first three are more colorful b/c it was the Jedi's prime. I like the old ones, but they are so static. The new ones you see how its a story of Vader, a tragic story where he isn't necessarily this icon of evil, but where he's the victim. It totally humanizes him as a character. Plus theres more politics behind it, and the whole story comes together so well. Plus theres almost NO jedi shit in the last three, no mention of any sith lords. And lets ALSO not forget how BAD the acting was in 4-6. I mean come one, Mark Hamil couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, and carrie fisher wasn't great. Of course Harrison Ford was awesome, but I can appreciate both trilogies for what they are.. my two cents

Vader got tricked out because hes a moody little pussy with a desire to be powerful instead of the loser he really was. I feel no sympathy or desire to know anything about a character who gets shaped and bent so easily.

I would much rather see an underdog who fights the good fight, even if its at least partially unrealistic. Like Ong Bak 1 and 2, now them is some good fucking movies with people who know how to fight. Not this completely contrived wire bullshit which was horrifically fake. At least the Matrix movies did it damn well, the Star Nerds need to go back to school.

All this talk makes me want to relieve myself on this particular DVD collection. Who needs Ebert and thatnewguy (Ropert?).

Tony Jaa doesn't need no Dungeons and Dragons!

I absolutely hated episodes 1-3. Acting was shit and I felt like I was watching a disney movie.

I think remaking the original 3 would be a very bad idea. I think Mark Hamill did a pretty good job acting with robots and puppets through half of it.

1-3 were very colourfull and had a different mood. I liked 4-6 with its dark mood. 1-3 never seemed to get close and bridge that gap properly, IMO. But they were entertaining. ESB stays my fav of all 6.

I liked the new 3, but I easily would have forgotten them if they were not called "Star Wars." Had it been some new trilogy no name movie, I would not have as much anticipated each new movie, although I wasn't that excited about any of them after episode 1.

I'm less of a critic than most people are these days in that I just accept a movie for what it was, not what it could have improved upon. We're so spoiled by big budget hollywood these days that we expect to be WoW'ed every time, but we never are because we've seen everything over and over again. So what was Star Wars to do, given that every scifi flick since has replicated the original Star Wars equation? It tried to develop a strong storyline that layed out a background for the other 3, but somewhere it got lost in the execution and boggled us with lots of stupid details that belonged in a novel that only the hardcore really cared to read and let the rest of us look at pretty light sabers and hot naked twi'lek chicks on the big screen. It never screamed Star Wars to me, it just got off on the wrong foot and by the time it got its balance back it was too late.

I disagree. They need to move away from big hollywood that "wows" us, and go back to the basics, and worry about storyline and character development. Oh, and get some people who can act. I could act better than that clown haydensen or whatever his name is.

I liked the last 3 prequel episdoes, but I agree with chrono in that i wouldn't hazve cazred less if they didn't have the name attached to it.

I think you will find, that as with most the things, the people who have nothing but time on their hands (Ie. nerds who get no pussy) will sit through something and critique even the tiniest little shit. I don't watch movies to find inconsistencies, I watch them to be entertained, and I was entertained. I really like the 3rd one, but it was the only one I put forth the effort to go see in the movies because I wanted to see the transformation.

All I can say is that being Star Wars and all of the money they knew they could get they could have built a better cast.

I just really like the character of the Emperor and how he manipulated himself to power through the first three. I mean there is barely anything about him in 4-6 and he is such an important character. I was skeptical about the dude who played Anakin in the second one, but in ep 3 I thought he did a really good job. I mean that saber battle between him and Obi Won was just sicc imo.. itwas definately a different flavor thou, I feel ya chrono and dale about that. I actually didn't like 1-2 until I saw 3 and now after seeing it it all fits together and I can appreciate the need for them to tell the story of 1 and 2

I loved the original trilogy so I had high hopes for the prequels. I thought Episode I was an absolutely terrible movie, and although I liked Episode II, I can't help but feel it could have been much better (had they made Anakin darker as he should be). Episode III rocked my socks off but some parts were pretty lame (a lot of the love-story-related scenes were retarded, IE "we don't know why Padme is dying, her vital signs are normal but it appears she has just lost the will to live" ).

I would really like to see Episodes 7-9 made as it was originally intended (original cast of course), but perhaps not by Lucas.

    YAAAAA BUDDY!

I'm coming form sort of a biased opinion b/c Eps 4-6 are among my like favorite movies of all-time. I grew up watching them all the time as a kid, and loved them.
Plus you can't help but love and root for each character in the originals.

    On to 1-3.
IMO, The first 2 were okay. The storylines were decent, and of course the fighting/technology of the movies were good, but seriously, i fucking HATE Hayden christensen. The guy is the worst actor EVER, and is the reason why i don't like the first 2 as much as i could/should/would.
Not to mention Jar Jar Binks was SO annoying. He also ruined the movie, more or less.

The third was different. That was awesome. As bad as Hayden still was, did I mention i fuckin hate the guy, the storyline was SO good and the movie was so well done that I loved it. Lucas def. reedemed himself.

So, that's my .02 on the Star Wars'. The originals are just so good. The music is so good. The characters are so good. The story is so good.
You're a funny guy, Sully, I like you. Dat's why I'm going to kill you lahst.

Its all coming together for me. Empire kicked ass.

The story is good, the writing is terrible in paticular the dialogue. NO ONE TALKS LIKE THIS and what was with making this strong women character Queen Amidala miss whiny co-dependent "Oh, Anakin your breaking my heart" Blech. The Star Wars movies 1-3 were over-hyped, over done, under written, and under acted.

Portman was awesome in the Professional and V for Vendetta.
