Mine were done around the 1st of March, but since I owed money, I didn't send them in until a couple of days ago.

I do mine right away when I get my W2. Never saw the sense in waiting til the last minute especially when a person gets money back and doesn't owe.

I had a new client, a referal, call at 8 pm Friday night saying "My accountant says my taxes are too complex." I said bring it on and stayed up very, very late.

Dropped off three trust returns at the Fed Ex office and I am now DONE.

Gotta efile a few on Monday, but other than that....party time!

I'm sure like any other high volume - chain business there are a few good people but most of the people there go through some crash course tax training and then they're on the job. At least that's how Jackson Hewitt does it so I'm assuming H&R is similar.

Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.

Did mine in Feb., spent the return in March.
Coarse edged youth, the irish pendants string from their smiles
not yet plucked as to slacken the seams
and drag down the features of age,
no folds or creases from unkempt wear
    eyes of tranquilty, crystalline-beads
no sign of despair in their hair, nor their hearts
but oh they have yet to be experienced and that makes aging so very worth it...ML circa2012

Many returns are fine for H&R Block just as they are fine to be done via Turbo Tax. But I see it all the time, people who will not pay a professional to do their return and the get screwed up. I cannot tell you how many Block or Turbo Tax returns I have ammended when they finally came in for a CPA.

The number one disaster is guy with rental properties who try to do the return himself.

If you have a W-2 and a home mortgage, Block is fine. If you have high income where AMT is an issue or anything whatsoever on Schedule E, you should not go to there IMO.

If that's all you have, you should be doing it yourself.
