It depends. I hate getting hassled by cops for stupid shit. I don't mind being told what to do by my boss(to a certain degree), because that is the person making my paycheck.

My authority problem is out of control. I have made leaps and bounds of improvement toward it in the last few years, but it still causes me a lot of unneeded trouble.

I can't help it most of the time. I do not give any respect to authority until I feel they deserve it. Someone's job title is nothing more than a word to me.
So you went to college and got a teaching degree, that doesn't mean you know what you are talking about.
So you went to the police academy, that doesn't make you an honest and dignified person.
I have stood toe to toe with teachers, professors, policemen, ect. I have made cops back down and drive away like little bitches, and I have had cops pull guns on my and drive my face into the ground. I have made teachers cry, and I have had teachers fail me out of their class, and almost get me kicked out of school.

I do not do it for fun. I do not do it to be a little punk. I just can't give an inch when I feel that I am right. I know enough about Alabama law to know when I can and can't legally tell a cop to go fuck himself.

When I was 17 I had a cop in Loxley, AL pull me over because he said my car looked like one that had been used by two people escaping from a work-release program. I showed him ID, and even let him search my car, because his reason sounded logical. After questioning my friend and me for about ten minutes, another redneck cop drives up and begins to give us shit. The second the asshole told me that I wasn't telling the truth, I snapped. I went off on a rant about knowing my rights and eventually told him to go fuck his sister some more. The cop pulled his gun on me and told me to shut the fuck up. I couldn't control myself, and I kept at it. I was pushing his buttons until finally he grabbed me in an arm bar and drilled my face into the gravel on side of the road. His partner reminded him that his cop cruiser had a camera and was filming the entire incident. The first cop helped me clean my face up and told me to leave before I got myself into trouble. I said over and over again that I wasn't leaving until I got the redneck fucker's badge number. My friend had to talk some sense into me, before I would just get in the car and leave.

Now what is the moral of that story? I stood my ground, sure. What I got out of it was a scared up face and the loss of a little pride having been thrown to the ground like a rag doll. I handled that completely wrong, and it took growing up to see that.

I still have a large amount of that streak in me, and I am trying to learn to relax and back down from stupid shit. It is a no win situation to stand up to authority, because most of the time you will lose even if you are right. Then another side of me tells me that rebellion is simply having the balls to stand up to what you feel is right. I think a little rebellious nature is good for everyone in certain situations. If everybody was complacent, the government could walk all over us, and we would have a dictatorship here.

Yeah in most situations the cop is going to win. It is lame because alot of those guys don't care about their jobs. Alot of them are just on power trips, they think that they are above the law and abuse their "position". There are also alot of good cops too though who do want to help people.

The majority of cops I've met (willingly or otherwise) have, with only one or two exceptions, been friendly enough.

It's my experience that the person's attitude is more likely to cause a problem than the cops'.

I can't argue with you there. My attitude sucked. I was "yes sir" and "no sir" when I felt that I was in the wrong, but I turned into a despicable little shit when I felt that I was right and someone was abusing their authority. It is miracle that I even made it to adulthood.

I follow pretty good now that I'm older. Especially down here because of these crazy ass Mexican cops.

It's not that I have a problem with authority, just lack of logic. I'm such a logical person that I always lead someone through my thinking to show them why I think they're wrong. I'm not a smart ass about it, I'm not rude, and I'm not disrespectful. Yet almost everyone gets pissed off when I do it. My parents tell me to shut up and start yelling at me, but I remain calm and ask them how yelling helps the situation. A lot of times I feel like they're the kids and I'm the adult. It's very annoying to be like this at sixteen, because everyone assumes I'm giving them a hard time. Too bad they don't have the sense to use their brains and think about what I'm saying; why should I listen to someone who doesn't respect me enough to listen to me at all?

I predict Tough will post something stupid in a minute.

I am usually a pretty respectull and polite guy, unless of course, I have been drinking.

Look I'll do this here instead of a PM. I have no problems with any of your post except when I start one. Now i start a lot of crazy post and your more then welcome to say anything on them you want. But what i don't want is you posting on one that i started that contains some info.

This all started over my post in regards to flying a remote helicopter. All I was trying to do is tell people how much fun they are and it takes a lot to learn how to fly them. I didn't need someone jumping in and hi jacking it. All I ask from you if my post is serious keep it there. If it's for other purposses goofing around, then say what ever you want.
